Heads up, Flower Mound!
If you are headed to Twin Coves Park or another Town park with outdoor grills, please see the below information regarding the issued burn bans by Denton and Tarrant counties. At this time, use of the charcoal grills near park pavilions and the fire pits at Twin Coves is prohibited. 🚫
When the bans are lifted and use of these amenities can resume, we'll let you know!
Both Denton and Tarrant counties issued mandatory burn bans effective Aug. 25, due to dry weather conditions and the potential threat of wildfires.
While the bans are in effect, please follow these restrictions:
▪️ No outdoor burning. Outdoor burning of combustible material – such as wood, lumber, leaves, brush, etc. – is prohibited.
▪️ Outdoor cooking is restricted to propane and natural-gas cooking devices that must be fully enclosed and operated with the enclosure in place. Additionally, wood and charcoal devices must be fully enclosed, with at least 5-feet of clearance from vegetation, combustible materials, and debris.
For specific restrictions on open and enclosed hot work, read the full Denton County order here: https://tinyurl.com/39mfhptk.
Ignoring this mandatory burn ban is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $500. The burn ban will remain in place until drought conditions are alleviated.
