The Flowery Branch Police Department was honored to participate in the 2nd Annual Cops & Kids Shine Showdown Car Show, sponsored by the Gainesville/Hall County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 41, North Atlanta Customs, and Clays Motorsports Tint & Paint Protection. The event was held on Saturday, June 6, at Lanier Technical College in Gainesville, with the proceeds benefiting local youth through the Gainesville/Hall County Fraternal Order of Police Foundation's Cops & Kids programs.
Officer Jason McDaniel represented the Flowery Branch Police Department at the event, and we are proud to announce that our patrol vehicle was awarded 2nd place.
We would like to thank the Gainesville/Hall County FOP Lodge 41, North Atlanta Customs, and Clays Motorsports Tint & Paint Protection for organizing and supporting this outstanding event. Their commitment to supporting local youth and strengthening community partnerships is greatly appreciated.
We are honored to receive this recognition and proud to support such a worthwhile cause.

Congratulations Lieutenant Rick Whaley!

The Flowery Branch Police Department is proud to announce that Lieutenant Rick Whaley has been awarded the John W. Jacobs Sr. Memorial Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement. This prestigious honor was presented by the Gainesville Kiwanis Club alongside Chief Chris Hulsey.

Since joining FBPD in 2023, Lt. Whaley has demonstrated outstanding dedication, leadership, and commitment to the community. He currently serves as the Lieutenant over our Criminal Investigations Division, where he plays a critical role in combating crime and keeping our community safe.

Lt. Whaley began his law enforcement career in North Carolina in 1988 before moving to Georgia, where he has faithfully served the community with the Oakwood Police Department, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, and now the Flowery Branch Police Department.

His commitment to excellence reflects great credit upon himself and our department. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for his continued service to our community.
