Walk for Lives is a free community event focused on fentanyl awareness, education, hope, and prevention.
Whether you’re looking to learn more, support a loved one, or simply stand with the community, this event offers an opportunity to come together and make a difference.

This family-friendly event will include:
• Live music and inflatables
• Food trucks, snow cones, and loaded teas
• Free naloxone
• Treatment provider booths

Together, we can raise awareness, save lives, and support those affected by addiction.

We're excited to announce that the bridge on Flowood Drive is now officially open to traffic.

Thank you to the Rankin County Board of Supervisors for their investment in infrastructure that helps keep Flowood connected and moving forward.

All lights are back operational at this time

🚦 Traffic Alert 🚦

Please use caution while traveling this morning. Traffic signals are currently out at the following intersections:

🔴Lakeland Dr at Airport Rd
🔴Lakeland Drive at Old Fannin Road
🔴 Lakeland Commons Dr at Flowood Dr
🔴 Old Fannin Road at Freedom Bend Rd/Hospitality Dr

Treat these intersections as four-way stops until the signals are restored.
Please allow yourself extra travel time, stay alert, and use caution when approaching these intersections.
We’ll provide updates as soon as the traffic signals are back in service.

Fire at General Recycling Successfully Contained

Earlier this morning, emergency crews responded to a fire involving a large pile of recyclable materials at General Recycling.
To ensure firefighters had safe access to and from the scene, the Police Department temporarily shut down nearby lanes of traffic.
The fire was successfully contained at 7:18 a.m. Traffic restrictions have since been lifted.
We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation while crews worked to safely manage the incident.

🎉Join us in celebrating the excellence displayed by the Flowood Police Department’s Motor Unit at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association annual Police Motorcycle Training!🎉

The skills learned by every officer in motor school must be practiced. The risk motor officers experience can be greatly reduced through consistent training.
As part of this week long training, Officers from MS, LA and AL put their skills to the test against some of the most experienced officers from these states.

We are proud of our motor unit for earning the following awards:

A special blood drive has been organized to help support Officer Rodney’s care and recovery.

Wishing our Traffic Division the very best as they compete in the Motorcycle Riding Competition at this year’s Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association conference!

These competitions showcase the skill, precision and dedication required to safely operate police motorcycles. We are proud of our officers for representing our department and putting their training to the test.
