The Energy Assistance Program's Cooling Assistance component will begin taking applications Monday, June 15, and will end Monday, August 17. The maximum benefit payment for an electric bill to operate cooling equipment is $400.00. Applications may be completed online though CommonHelp (www.commonhelp.virginia.gov), by phone through the Enterprise Customer Service Center (855-635-4370 or 833-522-5582), or by submitting a paper application at any local department of social services. If you would like us to mail you a paper application, please call our office at 540-745-9316.
