A Message to Floyd County Voters Regarding New Voting Equipment for the November 3, 2026 General Election.

Dear Floyd County Voters,
As we prepare for the November 3, 2026 General Election, I want to share an important update with you. Floyd County will be introducing new voting equipment that will be used beginning with this election and in future elections.
The purchase of this equipment was approved by the Floyd County Commissioners Court in July, and our office is now working closely with Hart InterCivic to prepare for its implementation.
I understand that any change involving elections—especially voting equipment—can bring questions or concerns. I want our voters to have accurate information and, most importantly, confidence in the process.
Why are we replacing our voting equipment?
Our previous voting equipment has served Floyd County very well for many years. It is NOT being replaced because something went wrong with an election, because of problems with our election results, or because the equipment failed us.
Simply put, our existing equipment has reached the end of its expected service life. Just like other technology, voting equipment eventually reaches a point when it is appropriate to update and replace it. We are thankful for the years of dependable service our current equipment has provided, but it is time for Floyd County to move forward with updated technology.
Preparing for the transition
We are working hand in hand with Hart InterCivic throughout this transition. We will be learning the new equipment inside and out, completing training, preparing our election workers, testing the equipment, and doing everything necessary to make the transition as smooth as possible for our voters.
As your County Clerk and Elections Administrator, I take the responsibility of conducting Floyd County elections extremely seriously. I can assure you that I will do everything within my responsibility to make sure our elections continue to be conducted accurately, securely, fairly, and transparently.
New equipment does not change our commitment.
It does not change the safeguards and procedures we follow.
And it certainly does not change our responsibility to the voters of Floyd County.
Our goal is for every voter to walk into the polling place feeling comfortable with the new equipment and to walk out knowing their vote was cast as they intended.
Over the coming months, we will continue providing information. Questions are welcome. I would much rather our voters ask questions and receive accurate information directly from our office than ever feel uncertain about the election process.
Thank you for continuing to place your trust in the Floyd County Elections & County Clerk's Office. We are excited about this next step, and we remain committed to the same standard we expect of every election we conduct:
Protecting the Integrity of Our Elections.
SAFE. FAIR. TRANSPARENT.
Sincerely,
KeeLee Rawls
Floyd County Clerk
