Summer is right around the corner, and that means it's grilling season! Before you fire up the barbecue, remember a few key safety tips:
🌭 Always keep your grill at least 10 feet away from your house, garage, or any overhangs.
🌭 Keep children and pets at least 3 feet away from the grilling area.
🌭 Never leave a lit grill unattended.

WHAS Crusade for Children Door-to-Door Kickoff! 🚨

Lafayette Township (Floyds K***s), we are heading your way tonight! Your will be out collecting for the 73rd WHAS Crusade for Children from 6:00 PM until Dark.

Tonight’s Focus Areas:

Old Hill, E. & W. Riley Rd., Grandview, Fox Hill Estates, Old Vincennes Rd, Spring Farms, Spring Creek, Quarry Rd, Fox Hunters Point, Westchester, Kelly’s Ridge

Woods of Lafayette, Altawood, Buffalo Trails, Paoli Pike (from Scottsville to Buffalo Trail)

Spickert K**b Road, Jones Lane, South Skyline Drive, Plum Hill, Orchards of Moser K**b

Includes all adjacent side roads and subdivisions for these routes.

📢 SPECIAL NOTE: Our crews move fast! If we complete tonight's routes early, we will begin collecting on streets scheduled for Thursday. Please keep an eye and ear out!

If we miss you, or if you live outside these areas and want to contribute, please call the station at (812) 923-8003 to arrange a pickup from a marked Fire Department unit, or drop off your donation at the station anytime. Thank you for your continued support!

Blaze Destroys Iconic Barn in Greenville 🚒
At 10:41 PM on Monday night, your responded to a massive structure fire at 6031 Georgetown Greenville Rd. Engine 31 arrived within 8 minutes to find a large barn well-involved with fire, with the flames visible for miles.

Due to the size of the fire, we initiated a box alarm, bringing in automatic aid from the Floyd County Fire Territory, and called upon the Palmyra Fire Department for their water tanker truck to establish a steady water supply.

Despite the aggressive attack and tireless work from all responding crews, the structure was a total loss. We are very grateful to report that there were no injuries and all residents were safely accounted for. A massive thank you to our mutual aid partners at Floyd County Fire and Palmyra Fire Dept for their crucial assistance on the scene.

Had an absolute blast cooling off the students at Floyds K***s Elementary for their Field Day on Friday! 🚒💦

Engine 11 stopped by to join in on the fun, and our crews helped turn up the excitement with some fire hose water games to beat the heat. From the dunk tank drop to the parachute games and running through the spray, it was a fantastic day of community connection and celebrating the students' hard work this year.

Thank you to the school staff and all the kids for having us out!
