🇺🇸 Flushing Hometown Heroes Banner Program 🇺🇸

The Flushing Area Historical Society is proud to present the Flushing Hometown Heroes Banner Program, honoring local military veterans and first responders with strong ties to the Flushing area.

This program recognizes U.S. Armed Forces veterans as well as first responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel, through commemorative banners displayed in public spaces throughout the city from Memorial Day through approximately Veterans Day.

The Flushing Hometown Heroes Banner Program is not a fundraiser. Its purpose is to honor service and sacrifice.

Contributions are used only to cover banner production, installation, and to help support the program.

💙 Participation options:
• Single‑sided banner: $60
• Double‑sided banner: $120
• $250 support donation – includes a double‑sided banner and helps offset overall program costs

This program is made possible with the support of the City of Flushing and Flushing Parks and Recreation, ensuring banners are displayed respectfully and prominently for the community to see.

The sign is up!!!!

Our garden is slowly waking up and I look forward to seeing the growth throughout the season this year ☺️

Please come down to the Flushing City Parks & Recreation Flushing Farmer’s Market this Saturday from 9-2 at Riverview Park for opening day! We will be there with all of your favorite goodies.

I’m personally VERY excited to bring our new Seed Library to set up at the Parks and Rec market tent. Stop by for some free seeds, we have vegetable, annual, perennial, herb, and pollinator mixes all ready for you to enjoy! I’ve been diligently packaging and labeling them all for the past few weeks and can’t wait to share them with our community.
