Out of the Archives: Construction framed by a diversion tunnel that would reroute the Neversink River until work on the Neversink Dam was done. While the stream control works were largely finished in 1942, the year this photo was taken, the project was put on hold due to building material shortages during WWII. Restarted in 1946, it was done by 1954. Neversink water travels to Rondout Reservoir before heading into the Delaware Aqueduct toward NYC.
