There has been an update to our 10U tournament schedule. The 10U boys team from Bowden County has forfeited, and as a result, we will not have a pool game on Friday night.
We will now enter the tournament bracket and play our first game on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. We will face the loser of the District 6 Champions (Morgan County) and the District 1 Champions (Washington County).
Please note that this is a one-and-done tournament, meaning a loss will eliminate us from play.
Although we do not play on Friday, we are allowed to attend the games that evening if you and your player would like to go watch.
Please plan accordingly and ensure your player arrives early and ready to go on Saturday. We look forward to competing and representing our program well.
P.S. These games will not be videotaped or streamed online.

Game clocks are “running clock” except for timeouts, injuries, and free throws.

If tied after regulation, free throws from 5 players of each team will alternate until a winner is decided.

Children must play at least one full period per game.

Coaches will vote to determine All-Stars.

🏀 Charlton County Youth Basketball Registration is Open! 🏀
⏰ Registration ends Friday, November 22nd! Don’t miss your chance to sign up for another exciting season of youth basketball. Online registration is currently down, but we’ve attached the registration form — simply complete it and drop it by the Charlton County Recreation Department office to secure your spot. Please share this information with friends and family so no one misses out!
📅 Skills Assessments — Saturday, December 6, 2025
To help us form balanced and competitive teams, all players will participate in skills assessments on the following schedule:
⏰ 8:30 AM — 6U (Ages 4–6) (At least 2 coaches needed)
⏰ 9:30 AM — 8U (Ages 7–8)
⏰ 10:30 AM — 10U (Ages 9–10) (Need 2 head coaches — one for girls and one for boys)
⏰ 11:30 AM — 12U & 14U (Ages 11–14) (1 coach needed for girls’ group)
🧢 Coaches Meeting: Coaches will meet immediately after the skills assessments in the gym office to select teams and finalize practice schedules. This assessment is the best time for coaches to evaluate players and ensure each team is balanced, competitive, and gives every child an opportunity to grow their skills.
🏀 Practices & Games:
Practices will begin the week following assessments, pending all coaches have completed their background checks.
Practices and games are generally held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with some Saturdays reserved for games only.
By keeping the schedule consistent, players can develop skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while enjoying a fun, structured environment.
