Charlton County Fire Rescue is an agency of the County of Charlton Georgia, the department consist of 5 all volunteer stations with an average of 100 volunteer firefighters protecting 160 estimated Square miles to include the Okefenokee Swamp. The CCFR also protects two municipalities the City of Folkston and Homeland GA. The unique location of Charlton County also provides an opportunity to watch

an average of 70 to 80 trains pass through the "Folkston Funnel" leaving and going to their destinations in Florida to the rest of the US.
