The Folsom Fire Department continues remediation and repair work at Fire Station 36 following a water leak that caused water damage in portions of the facility. While initial cleanup efforts are complete, additional issues related to previous leaks have extended the repair timeline, which remains uncertain at this time but is expected to continue for at least another week.

During this period, personnel and apparatus assigned to Fire Station 36 will continue temporarily operating from Fire Station 39 in Empire Ranch. Emergency response service remains uninterrupted, and response coverage throughout the community continues to be maintained.

We appreciate the community’s ongoing patience and understanding.

Today, we celebrate the mothers who lead with strength, compassion, and unconditional love — both at home and in our community. ❤️

To all the moms, grandmothers, mother figures, and especially the mothers serving as first responders: thank you for the sacrifices you make every day, both on and off duty. Your dedication, courage, and care do not go unnoticed.

From all of us at the Folsom Fire Department, we wish you a safe, happy, and well-deserved Mother’s Day.

Your Folsom Cert assisted our City last night.  They were deployed to various locations, helping with traffic control, downed trees, and reporting hazards.  These volunteers are a crucial part of the fire department’s ability to maintain operational readiness.  With their help, it freed up fire crews to respond to other urgent calls for service!!

Congratulations to our new Fire Chief, Chief Solak

Today we proudly announce his appointment to Fire Chief and look forward to the leadership, guidance, and dedication he brings to our department and community. Please join us in congratulating Chief Solak as he steps into this important role and continues our mission of service, safety, and excellence.

Folsom City Manager Bryan Whitemyer today announced the appointment of Jason Solak as Folsom Fire Chief, effective March 1, 2026.

Chief Solak has served as Interim Fire Chief since October 2025, providing steady leadership following the retirement of Fire Chief Ken Cusano. After several months of leading the department, Solak has earned the confidence of city leadership, department personnel, and community partners.

Chief Solak brings more than 30 years of fire service experience to the role. Prior to joining the City of Folsom, he served as Deputy Fire Chief for the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, where he led operations, training, and emergency response readiness during his 25-year career with the department.

“During his interim tenure, Chief Solak has earned the trust of our firefighters, our leadership team, and our community,” said City Manager Bryan Whitemyer. “He brings operational depth, strong character, and a calm, steady presence. Naming him permanent Fire Chief reflects the outstanding leadership he has already demonstrated and our confidence in the direction he is taking the department.”
