The Folsom Police Department joined regional law enforcement partners in Operation Central Valley Blues, an expanded initiative that builds on Operation Folsom Blues, launched by the department in 2023.

Led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Sacramento office, the operation culminated in a three-day enforcement surge involving 38 federal, state, and local agencies across 14 counties. Participating agencies carried out proactive enforcement, undercover operations, high-impact patrols, search warrant service, and probation and parole compliance checks to disrupt criminal activity online and throughout the region.

The Folsom Police Department remains committed to disrupting drug trafficking and protecting communities through continued collaboration with its law enforcement partners.

Recognizing lifesaving service 🚓❤️

On September 19th, Officers Chernyavskiy and Sena responded to a medical emergency involving a community member in cardiac arrest. Officer Chernyavskiy immediately began CPR, providing rapid, effective care during the critical first minutes. Officer Sena arrived shortly afterward and assisted with CPR. Their quick action, preparedness, and commitment to delivering high-quality care played a significant role in the successful resuscitation.

Thanks to their efforts and members of the Folsom Fire Department, the patient regained circulation and was awake and communicating with emergency medical personnel before being transported to the hospital.

Last week, Folsom Fire Chief Solak and members of FFD command staff stopped by to thank Officers Chernyavskiy and Sena for their preparedness and dedication to the community they serve in partnership with the Folsom Fire Department. Please join us in recognizing them for their lifesaving actions! 👏

🚔 Please join us in welcoming two new officers to our department! 🚔

We’re proud to announce the hiring of Officer Andrew Elam and Officer Jared Bracken. Both officers bring a strong commitment to public service and will soon begin serving our community.

Officer Elam comes to us with prior law enforcement experience with the United States Park Police and was a graduate from our own Vista Del Lago.

Officer Bracken most recently served with the Citrus Heights Police Department as an officer.

Help us give them a warm welcome as they start this new chapter with our department. We look forward to the positive contributions they will make while working to keep our community safe.

It’s almost 9 p.m., Folsom! Have you done your 9 p.m. Routine?

Take a few minutes before bed to help keep your home, vehicle, and neighborhood safer. Don’t make it easy for a thief!

🚗 Remove valuables. Bring your wallet, keys, cell phone, and other valuables inside. Don’t give thieves a reason to break in!

🔐 Lock it up. Lock your car doors and secure your home. An unlocked door is an easy opportunity for a thief.

💡 Light it up. Turn on your outdoor lights to help eliminate dark hiding spots and make your property less inviting to criminals.

And don't forget to pick up your mail to prevent mail and identity theft!

A few simple steps each night can help prevent crimes of opportunity. Make the 9 p.m. Routine a habit, Folsom!

9 p.m. Check. Lock. Protect.
