May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month 🏍️

Whether you ride on two wheels or drive on four, safety is a shared responsibility. Motorcycles can be harder to see, so take an extra second to look twice before changing lanes, turning, or pulling into traffic.

To our riders: wear your helmet, stay visible, ride sober, and always ride alert.

Together, we can help prevent crashes and keep everyone safe on the road. Let’s make every ride a safe ride.

Six Arrested in Two Separate Retail Theft Incidents; Drugs and Stolen Handgun Recovered

On Memorial Day evening, Folsom Police officers arrested six people in two unrelated retail theft incidents that occurred within the same hour near Iron Point Road.

Around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the Nike Factory Store after employees reported several suspects stole just under $1,500 in merchandise and fled on foot. Officers searched nearby trails and businesses, pursued a suspect on foot, and took him into custody. During the investigation, officers recovered a loaded handgun believed to have been discarded by the suspect. The firearm was reported stolen. Officers also recovered approximately 58 grams of fentanyl. Additional suspects connected to the theft were located nearby.

The following individuals were arrested in connection with the incident and charged with organized retail theft (490.4(a)(2) PC):

• Joseph Pellegrino, 18, of Sacramento
• Niko Anderson Hardy, 33, of Sacramento
• Travis Allen Knight, 36, of Sacramento
• Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, 37, of Rio Linda — also charged with resisting arrest, possession of a loaded stolen firearm, narcotics sales-related charges, and possession of narcotics while armed. Camarena also had an outstanding warrant.

• Christina Marie Beck, 45, of North Highlands, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

While officers were still investigating the Nike theft, a separate theft was reported at another nearby shoe store. Officers quickly located the suspect, recovered the stolen merchandise, and learned he was on probation with multiple outstanding warrants. Justin McSperitt, 37, of Sacramento, was arrested for theft with a prior conviction, violation of probation, and three outstanding warrants.

All six suspects were booked into the Sacramento County Jail.

Folsom Police officers responded quickly to both incidents and safely took all involved suspects into custody. We appreciate the strong partnerships we share with our business community, whose timely reporting and cooperation continue to help keep Folsom safe.
