Folsom Fire Station 36 has reopened and resumed normal operations following repairs related to a water leak.

During the temporary closure, emergency response service to the community remained uninterrupted through coverage provided by firefighters and apparatus from adjacent Folsom Fire stations, along with automatic aid support from Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

We appreciate the communityโ€™s patience and understanding throughout the repair process and thank our regional partners for their continued support.

Planning is underway for a future Corporation Yard that will support essential city services for decades to come.

At its May 26 meeting, the Folsom City Council approved an agreement to begin site planning and environmental assessment work for a future 36-acre operations hub south of Highway 50.

The current Corporation Yard was built in the 1960s and serves as a critical base for street maintenance, utilities, solid waste, fleet services, and emergency response operations.

Construction begins next week on Folsom's flashing yellow arrow pilot program along Natoma Street.

The project will add a flashing yellow left-turn arrow at four intersections:
๐Ÿšฆ Prison Road
๐Ÿšฆ Wales Drive
๐Ÿšฆ Stafford Street
๐Ÿšฆ Coloma Street

A flashing yellow arrow allows drivers to make a left turn after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians, helping improve traffic flow and reduce delays.

Work will occur during daytime hours and may require temporary left-turn lane closures. Signals may also be placed in flashing mode during construction, requiring drivers to come to a complete stop before proceeding when safe.

New signal operations are expected to begin as early as mid-July.

๐Ÿšง Traffic Alert: Overnight Closures on White Rock Road

The City of Folsom will continue emergency roadway repairs on White Rock Road beginning Tuesday, June 9 through the morning of Friday, June 12.

To allow crews to safely complete the work, White Rock Road will be fully closed between East Bidwell Street and Latrobe Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night on June 9, 10, and 11. The roadway will reopen to traffic each morning at 5 a.m.

The repairs are necessary to address damaged drainage infrastructure and deteriorated pavement conditions that require immediate attention.

A signed detour will direct through traffic to Highway 50 via East Bidwell Street and Latrobe Road. Local access to streets off White Rock Road in El Dorado County will be maintained during construction.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detour signs and traffic control measures.

Thank you for your patience as these necessary repairs are completed.
