Join us this Saturday, September 5th, at the Folsom Powerhouse SHP to celebrate the beginning of Biodiversity Week! Learn more about California’s amazing biodiversity, as well as help preserve local flora and fauna yourself!

During this event, we’ll break into groups to embark on a biodiversity walk (also known as a BioBlitz) to observe the various plant and animal species around our park. We will be utilizing the iNaturalist app to track what we observe and help scientists learn more about the ecology of our park.

Well we've got both at next week's presentation, "American River: Then and Now" at one of Folsom's very own historical landmarks - The Folsom Powerhouse! This Saturday, join us at Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park for a guided activity! Come for a tour down in the Powerhouse and hands-on learning in our museum, all while following along with our activity booklet. After finishing up your adventure, all participants will receive their official Jr. Ranger badge and stamp!

Want to learn more about the American River and the communities built along its banks? Join State Parks at the Carmichael library Tuesday, June 30th from 3-4 PM for a dive into the history of the the towns and cities that now lurk under the surface of Folsom lake!

Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park will be open for more days over the next two weeks. We'll be open every day June 22nd through July 5th and you can come visit FOR FREE if you claim your California State Parks Historians Passport now through July 6th.

Keep the Juneteenth celebrations going and look forward to America's 250th anniversary with us here at our local landmark and see how California was pioneering inventions all the way back in 1895 here at the Folsom Powerhouse. If you've got a passion for the people that came before you, come down and get a tour from our amazing docents here at the biggest powerplant in the world (in 1895), anytime from Noon - 4 PM.
