for our Earth Steward Volunteers!
During , we all gathered in community to learn about the invasive species English Ivy that has grown between the Main Powerhouse and Lower Powerhouse at our park . Volunteers worked last week to remove as much English Ivy as they could to stop the take over of the oak woodlands understory. We are always grateful for the volunteers who show up, learn together, and look out for each other and we're looking forward to having more invasive species removal days with our dedicated volunteers soon. Check out the before and after pics of the site!

There is still space for tonight's Paranormal Tour at the Folsom Powerhouse SHP! We hope you can join us!

Just because Halloween is over doesn’t mean we can’t explore the spookier side of Folsom’s past! For four days this month, we’ll be partnering with the Northern California Amateur Paranormal Society (NORCAPS) to investigate paranormal activity in the Folsom Powerhouse and Granite Grammar School!

You’ll learn the history of the location and use special devices to detect and find ghosts. Bring a family member or some friends and see if you can make contact with the spirits of Folsom’s past! Tickets are limited so don’t miss your chance to explore history with a haunting twist.

Come and join us to celebrate 130 years of the Folsom Powerhouse! If you live nearby here and have only ever driven past the park entrance, or even if you're a powerhouse regular, this is the sign to come stop in and learn more. See you September 13th!

⚡️ Our local historic landmark, the Folsom Powerhouse, turned 130 this year! We are celebrating with special tours, exhibits, speakers, and some Junior Ranger fun on September 13th. Come spend the day with us to experience the early infancy of electricity and see how power pioneers lit the capitol of California back in 1895! Join us from 10 AM - 3 PM to celebrate the festivities over at Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park.

If that's not enticing enough, we also will have sweet treats and a cake cutting to celebrate the Powerhouse's legacy and the 175th anniversary of California joining the Union.

If you'd like to get some cake to celebrate or just want to learn more, visit bit.ly/Powerhouse130 and RSVP to let us know you're coming to visit!
