NEW AT THE ZOO: ZOOKEEPER CHATS

There’s a new way to get to know the residents of the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary! New Zookeeper Chats are now offered every Thursday through Sunday, and are included with regular admission.

During these scheduled chats, visitors can learn fun facts, hear the unique stories of the zoo’s animal residents, and ask questions while watching zookeepers work alongside the animals in their care. It’s a fun, behind-the-scenes opportunity to learn more about the animals and the people who care for them.

Zookeeper Chat times and featured animals vary each day. Visitors should check the Keeper Chat board at the front of the zoo upon arrival for the day’s schedule and updates.

JOIN THE PACK! PARTNER WITH BARK N' SPLASH

Folsom Parks & Recreation is gearing up for its annual Bark N Splash on Saturday, October 3, and is looking for local businesses and organizations to join the fun as event partners!

This popular event brings local dog lovers together at the Steve Miklos Aquatic Center for an afternoon of swimming, play, and pet-focused fun. Event partners have the opportunity to connect face-to-face with local residents, showcase their business, and introduce products and services to potential new customers.

Several partnership opportunities are available, making it easy to find an option that best fits each business or organization and its goals. Space is limited, and only event partners are guaranteed vendor booth space, so interested businesses are encouraged to reach out early.

Ready to join the pack? Contact Jeri Karges at 916-461-6616 or [email protected] to learn more.

Fun Factory Preschool is almost back in session!

Our first day of school is next week, and our Fun Factory teachers are hard at work getting their classrooms ready to welcome a brand-new group of little learners!

Our classes are currently full, but it’s not too late to add your child to our waiting lists! Spots can open throughout the school year, so if Fun Factory is on your wish list for this year, we definitely encourage you to get your name on the list.

And if you have a 2-year-old right now… keep an eye out!

At Fun Factory, we like to think of preschool as the “dress rehearsal” for Transitional Kindergarten — a place for kiddos to practice being part of a classroom, build independence, make friends, learn through play, and get comfortable with the routines they’ll experience when they head off to TK.

So, if you’re planning for your current toddler to start TK at age 4, now is the time to start thinking about what their preschool year at age 3 will look like!

Information about registration for the 2027–2028 Fun Factory school year will be included in our Winter/Spring Activity Guide, with registration taking place in March 2027.

For now, we’re putting the finishing touches on our classrooms and getting VERY excited to welcome our 2026–2027 Fun Factory kiddos next week!

More Improvements Are Coming to Livermore Community Park!

Construction is getting underway this week on the next phase of improvements at Livermore Community Park - another investment in making the park more accessible, connected, and welcoming for our community.

This phase will add a new 62-space parking lot adjacent to McAdoo Drive, improve accessibility and pedestrian connections, complete a section of Class I trail, and add new landscaping, irrigation, lighting, and other site improvements.

During construction, visitors may see equipment and experience temporary access impacts near the project area, including along McAdoo Drive near Riley Street. Existing park facilities will remain open unless otherwise posted.

Construction is anticipated to be completed in January 2027. We appreciate the community’s patience as we continue investing in improvements that will make Livermore Community Park even better for years to come.
