Town of Taycheedah

Town of Taycheedah Town of Taycheedah, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, was founded in 1839 by Francis D. McCarty. The Town was named by Governor James Doty.

His early goal was to build an industrial and commercial hub at the location. At that time, the Military Road made the Town a primary stop for traders, soldiers, and settlers. The harbor facilities of Taycheedah were superior to those of Fond du Lac and Oshkosh at the time. The original name was in reference to the Indian word Tee-char-rah, meaning "camping place", or "our home". Tuesday, Feb 21, is Primary Election Day. Races for Superintendent of Public Instruction and Town of Taycheedah Chairperson are on the ballot. Polls open from 7 am to 8 pm.

Just a few reminders for tomorrow.

Polls open at 7 AM and close at 8 PM. If you are in line at 8 PM, you will be allowed to vote. Don't forget your photo ID.

If you need to register, bring proper proof of residence documents.

Please be nice to your poll workers and please don't post a picture of your voted ballot on social media.

My apologies for not posting periodic updates over the past few weeks regarding absentee voting. We were swamped! The momentum continued to build to today's peak of 127 voters. Approximately 27% (804) of our residents have already cast their ballots. WOW! We'll see the rest of you on Tuesday!

In-person absentee voting will close Friday, November 4th.

BULKY WASTE DAY!

Monday's route will be October 3rd.
Thursday's route will be October 6th.

Materials must be placed at the 'curb' by 6:00 a.m.

Freon items, tires (limit of 4), and electronics are acceptable materials.

PLEASE do not abuse this service. We've received reports of as many as 6, 8 and 10 tubed TVs at various homes. You may be helping a friend or family member but keep in mind the residents/property-owners in the Town are paying for this service. The same situation applies to tires. Continued abuse of this service will eventually increase our rates.
