This group had fun at our August Creativebug Club event this past Wednesday. Everyone got to make their own upcycled plushie creature.. Some glued them together and some sewed a fun new creature. Plus lots of laughing was involved.

Our September Creativebug Club will be "Practice in Bookmaking". This class will take place on Wednesday September 30th from 6-7:45 PM. Whether your style is precise or playful, in this class learn fundamentals of bookbinding and find a structure that ignites your imagination. All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring in your own paper to make your book with if you would like. This event is open to patrons 13 years and older. Registration is required. Regular patron Jasper had some fun today with our colored hot glue sticks to help turn their skeleton into a fittingly literary star - Curly of Goosebumps fame!

Colored glue sticks are one among many offerings of free materials we have here in the space, which also includes pipe cleaners, fuse beads, jewelry making supplies, felt, yarn, and a whole lot more. Stop down sometime and see what you can scare up! 💀 🎨

Did you know the Idea Studio is stocked with tons of free arts and craft supplies for patrons to use? We have a variety of craft supplies for the public to use while in the space that range from pipe cleaners, fuse beads, jewelry making supplies, hot glue guns, sticker, stencils, paper crafting supplies, yarn and so much more.

Feel free to stop in to check out all of the stuff we have to offer from all of the equipment that you can get trained on, to all of the arts and crafts supplies to use for free.

The Idea Studio is open Monday-Thursday 3-8 PM, Friday 3-6 PM and Saturday noon-4pm

****Who can be in the Idea Studio?****** The Idea Studio is open to anyone 13 years old or older. Anyone under 13 is welcome in the space, as long as they come in with a responsible caretaker/guardian who remains in the space with them to supervise the whole time they are in the space. Also, we ask that everyone adhere to the general rules of safe and responsible conduct while they are in the Idea Studio.

If you have not designed a bookmark yet and want to take part in this fun creative contest, you can stop into the Children's Area or the Idea Studio to grab your entry sheet.

---Design your own bookmark for Summer Reading. This year's theme is "Unearth a Story" Winning designs will be printed and available to the public in September. Submit your original design and entry form to any library assistant desk or email your entries back in by Sunday August 16th. ---

Registration for each class opens up two weeks before the class start date at 9am.

Calling all teens! Do you know the library puts together Teen Mystery Bags? And did you know you could get trained on our 3D printers and come in and print your own stuff????

Join us next Tuesday August 11th from 1-3 for our TEEN TAKEOVER EVENT. The Idea Studio will open early just for this special teen event. Come in and learn about all of the equipment that you can use in the space for free, ask our staff any questions you have about the space and makes some fun crafts for free to bring home with you.

Here is a list of our upcoming Creativebug Club Classes for August, September and October. August is going to be a blast learning how to take your old plushies apart to make them into a fun upcycled plushie or display piece. We will supply the materials for this event, but feel free to bring in some of your own plushie to experiment on.

The last list we posted mayyyyy have had a few dates wrong -- so this is newly revised and accurate list.
