At approximately 1215 pm on July 19th the Footville Fire department along with automatic mutual aid from the Orfordville Fire Department were dispatched to an address on Mineral Point road for a structure fire . While responding to the scene dispatch advised incoming crew that everyone was out of the house and accounted for . 1611 engine arrived and utilized an 1 3/4 handline to attack and extinguish a fire in the attached garage . Command upgraded the alarm to the working still level bringing units from janesville evansville clinton albany and broadhead fire departments . Once the fire was knocked down and Footville and Orfordville crews checked for extension those units were released . The Footville Fire Protection district would like to thank our mutual aid partners for responding and assisting . The fire was contained to the garage portion of structure but there was significant smoke throughout the structure . The cause of the fire is under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious in nature . Thank you to the community and to our mutual aid departments for the continued support .

With severe weather possible over the next couple of days, now is the time to know where your safe place is located.

👉 For houses and apartments: Get to the lowest level of the building. Go to an interior room away from windows.
👉 If you are in a mobile home, you may need to leave if a tornado watch is issued and head to a safer and more sturdy building. This is to allow you time to get to a safe location before a tornado warning is issued.
