EXTREME FIRE DANGER Today, June 3rd 2026. The weather service has issued a special weather statement for elevated wildfire potential this afternoon. No Burn permits are being issued anywhere in the Upper Peninsula. There was several wildland fires across the U.P. yesterday as things are VERY dry. Please NO BURNING. Also make sure if you are pulling a trailer the safety chains and nothing metal is dragging on the pavement as it creates sparks that can cause grass to start on fire along the road. If you see a fire, even if it’s small please contact 911 and report the location so fire crews can get on scene and extinguish the fire before it gets out of control.
