Please join me in congratulating Rikki Beeman on being the Employee Of The Month for December. She was nominated by several of her peers for her exceptional hard work she dedicated towards B.A.C.A. (a charity near and dear to her heart) not only did she choose the charity, but also orchestrated an entire months worth of successful events, raising close to $3,000. Her generosity will help countless children who cannot help them self. She is a team player and is always willing to lend a hand. Thank you for all that you do.

Dear Ozark Correctional Center,

THANK YOU for hosting and attending the 2025 OCC Employee Health & Benefit Fair! It takes a lot of effort to get staff through these events.
The many representatives, educators and the entire Employee Health, Wellness & Support team recognize and appreciate it all!
Special thanks to ESS Sarah Merriett, EHN Stephanie Dawley and the NECC team who helped plan and prep this year’s event.

65 OCC staff were able to make it to the fair and get connected with many of our state and local resources.

On Friday night some OCC employees went to Seymour’s Trunk or Treat. To say we had a blast was an understatement! It was so much fun seeing all the kiddos dressed up in their costumes and passing out candy, that you all donated. It was also a surprise to us that OCC won 3rd place in the décor competition…..with a $20.00 prize, that we were able to donate the winnings back to the Seymour Lions Club!!! Thank you to those who donated the candy to make this event happen!

On Saturday November 1, 2025, OCC held their first ever Offender Family Day. To give a little bit in how the offenders were chosen to participate in this event , these are the guidelines that they had to adhere to even put in an application:

These offenders were able to spend quality time with their loved ones playing catch, having sack races, playing co****le, and even some fun games, that were provided by P&P and Education. The joy on the faces of all that participated, along with their families, is a welcome change in a prison setting.

I heard so many times how nice all the staff at OCC were and that some of the kids are excited to come visit their loved ones, not only to see them but because of all of you that are kind and help make the visiting process a little easier on them. Thank you to the staff that volunteered their time to make this happen, from Drug Treatment, Classification, Custody, and everyone in between. I encourage all staff to participate in any future events like this, it helps to see that your efforts are not going unnoticed in helping improving lives for safer communities.

Congratulations to the OCC Fall 2025 Champions! These men dedicated themselves to their education and obtained their diplomas! The refreshments were prepared by our very own In2Work offenders. We had 29 visitors make it in to support their loved ones! Occ is blessed with a wonderful Education staff and this graduation was unforgettable!

Congrats COI Towell on being OCC’s Employee of the Month!

COI Towell is the nicest officer I've ever met. It always makes my day when I come to the institution and get to talk to him. I've seen COI Towell working the lobby and helping the offenders’ families when they come in to visit and he is very kind and respectful to them. He also goes out of his way to unlock the chapel when no one else is available. COI Towell seems to go above and beyond his normal duties and deserves to be nominated for Employee of the Month.

This week i had the privilege of visiting WERDCC and seeing firsthand how amazing this program is. I even got to meet three of the wonderful babies! As a parent this really hits home!
