“What’s That W**d!? 🌿
Thank you to everyone who guessed on Wednesday’s post! If you’ve been waiting for the answer… here it is!
This week’s mystery w**d is Water Primrose! This aquatic w**d can be found in ponds all across Dallas County. Water Primrose grows in dense mats along shorelines and shallow water areas and is easily recognized by its bright yellow flowers and trailing stems.
You can control it by following the rate listed on the labels of 2,4-D, Glyphosate, Triclopyr, Imazapyr, Imazamox, Flumioxazin, or Florpyrauxifen. Just be sure not to spray all at one time if the water primrose covers more than 25% of the pond, as decaying vegetation can reduce oxygen levels and stress fish populations.
Have questions about Water Primrose or other w**ds popping up in your pond? Give Rayvin a call! She would be happy to help!
Stay tuned for next week’s “What’s This W**d?” Wednesday! 👀🌿
