The Forest Acres Police Department has identified two people who died following a domestic violence incident on Barnes Springs Road.
The victim found shot dead at the scene is identified as Annie Christinal Pushpanathan, 53. The injured suspect was identified as Kenneth Dwain Benton, 67. He died from his injuries Thursday at a local hospital.
The preliminary investigation points to a murder su***de but the case remains active and ongoing. Based on information gathered thus far, investigators believe this was an isolated domestic violence incident with no threat to the public.
Records show from 2015 to 2021, FAPD responded to five complaint calls at the home between the two decedents. Each time there was not enough evidence to make a case, but each were provided resources which they declined.
“This is an incredibly tragic situation that has deeply impacted everyone involved,” said Chief Don Robinson. “Based on the information gathered thus far, investigators believe this was an isolated domestic violence incident, and there is no threat to the public. While the investigation remains ongoing, this case serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating consequences domestic violence can have on individuals, families, and entire communities.”
