Heads up Forest Lake:

The City has been notified that Working America will be conducting door-to-door organizing activities in Forest Lake through at least December 24, 2026. Representatives have indicated that they typically canvass between 3:00 and 9:00 p.m.

City Code Section 113.09(H) generally limits door-to-door canvassing to the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. However, Working America informed the City that it may pursue legal action on First Amendment grounds if the City attempts to enforce this restriction against its canvassers. Upon consultation with the City Attorney, the City is not be able to enforce the City ordinance regarding the canvassing hours for this constitutionally protected non-commercial advocacy.

This notice is being shared so residents are aware of the activity and does not constitute City endorsement of Working America or its views. Residents are not required to answer their doors or engage with canvassers.

Get ready for high-speed thrills on Lake 1! 🚤💨
We are wrapping up summer with exciting powerboat races this weekend! To keep our racers and spectators safe, the boat launch at Lakeside Park will be temporarily closed all day on Saturday and Sunday. Set up for the event will begin 5:00pm on Friday evening.

📅 Event & Closure Schedule:
🚫 Boat Launch: Closed ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday, starting at 6:00am
🏁 Races Begin: 12:00pm each day
🔄 Reopening: When the final speed demon finally clears the launch

If you need to get on the water this weekend, you will need to use an alternative ramp. Better yet, leave the boat trailers behind and join us on the shoreline to cheer on the racers! 🎟️🍿
