High school students in US History and World History classes had the opportunity today to hear from local author and veteran, Christy Sauro, Jr. who has written two books about the experience of Minnesota Marines in the Vietnam War. Both of his books, The Twins Platoon and The Legacy of the Twins Platoon, tell the stories of local Marines as they experienced the war and its aftermath. Four students won a drawing for copies of Sauro's latest book, and all students had the opportunity to hear from him about his own experiences during the war.
