It’s been a busy and productive few months for the 300th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment!

From training exercises and leadership changes to promotion ceremonies, our U.S. Army Reserve have been putting in the work — staying sharp, staying ready, and staying connected. Some of our efforts include:

✅ Providing coverage for Hanuman Guardian 25 (photos coming soon!).
✅ Welcoming a new commander, CPT Andrew Byers, and bidding a farewell to our outgoing commander, CPT Shanese Jefferson.
✅ Congratulating CPT Will Green on his well-deserved promotion.
✅ Celebrating a career of service for SSG Alexandra Shea as she soon retires.

Every formation and every mission bring us closer as a team and stronger as a force. We’re proud of our Soldiers and their commitment to excellence, both in and out of uniform.

Stay tuned for more updates!

New Year, Safe Year!

We hope 2025 is going great so far. In addition to starting those resolutions ( ), we are sharing a few tips to keep you and your safe, ensuring you can fully enjoy the year's activities. ❄️

January marks the start of a new year full of promise and opportunities. Make risk management a New Year's resolution to help keep you and your family safe, ensuring you can fully enjoy the year's activities. ❄️

In addition to the early morning sun, glare from snow-covered fields or oncoming traffic can impair a driver's vision, making it hard to see other cars and pedestrians. Using the correct eye protection can help you avoid an accident. 🌨️

😎 Eye protection. Wearing glasses with colored or polarized lenses can improve visibility in both day and night. Select lenses with 100% UV protection level to shield your eyes from harmful rays.

🕶️ Blue lenses: Reduces glare associated with snow blindness. 🔵

🕶️ Green lenses: Helps reduce eye strain in brighter sunlight. 🟢

🕶️ Red lenses: Increases depth of vision and enhances detail. 🔴

A Holiday Extravaganza !🎳🎄

Our 300th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment had a great time at our annual holiday event!🎉Our team came together for a day filled with laughter, strikes, and a whole lot of holiday cheer!

From cozy, knitted reindeer to over-the-top tinsel and lights, the festive fashion was definitely a highlight.👚✨

It’s always wonderful to get together with Family and friends in the spirit of the season, sharing fun moments while rocking the ugliest (or most creative) sweaters imaginable. While we had some bowling pros and others just there for the fun, the holiday vibes were in full swing.🥳🎳❤️

Soldier Spotlights! 👏🥳

Congratulations to Grace Swinson on her promotion from 1LT to Captain! Over the past year, she transitioned from active duty to the U.S. Army Reserve, joined the 300th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, and relocated her Family from the state of Washington to Georgia. As a devoted wife, mom, and leader, she embodies and dedication. We are excited to see how she continues to make an impact in her career.

Additionally, we want to recognize SFC Rodney Roldan and SGT Steven Lee for earning the Army Achievement Medal. Roldan supported the U.S. Army Reserve Command by traveling, conducting multiple interviews and producing an outstanding story about two brothers joining the . (Check it out here: https://dvidshub.net/r/8lewi4 🫡). Lee worked hard during our 2024 overseas training mission and produced multiple products to support U.S. Army South during , the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) premiere Caribbean-focused exercise.

Their dedication and professionalism showcased the strength and excellence of those in the environment. Great job and well deserved to all!

Kudos to the 313th United States Army Band for their performance during the YellaWood 500 pre-race ceremony at the Talladega Superspeedway. In addition to the U.S. Army Reserve band members, the featured singer included Warrant Officer Craig
Morgan Greer, an and a multi-faceted entertainer. Greer has made a name for himself as a country music icon, TV personality, author, and celebrated outdoorsman. Great job!

Land Navigation PT Challenge! 💪

As we mentioned in a previous post, here's the info about our competition that 1LT August Green and SPC Damian Dorn won during our military weekend. 🏆🥇

We paired up and ran around Fort Gillem Enclave in a twist to land navigation . The teams used to get from one location to another based on information and classroom provided the previous day. While at each point, the U.S. Army Reserve had to complete a physical fitness requirement such as push-ups, holding a plank for a minute, and more before moving to the next point. ❤️ the creativity and the take on and !
