Forest Park Snow Operations Update

This winter storm will be slow to clean up due to the extreme cold and steady snowfall. Crews are working in rotating shifts, focusing on the main roads first. Side streets and cul‑de‑sacs will take longer to clear (possibly into early next week), and salt will be used strategically once temperatures rise, since it’s ineffective below 15°F.

With this much snow, it has to be pushed somewhere - expect larger piles along driveways, road edges, and intersections during initial passes. Progress will happen in stages throughout the storm, not all at once.

Please stay home and move cars and garbage cans or other items off the street if possible. This helps our crews work more safely and efficiently. If you must be out, give plow trucks plenty of room.
