Meridian Waste has advised that today’s garbage collection route will be shortened due to the potential for severe weather.

Any collections missed today as a result will be picked up tomorrow morning. There is no anticipated delay in the routes for the remainder of the week.

REMINDER: Come check out this opportunity to view the State’s unclaimed property list and see if you have money waiting to be claimed. Representatives from the State Treasurer’s office will be at the courthouse TODAY Monday (April 20th) to assist Scott County residents with searching the list and making claims.

Come check out this opportunity to view the State’s unclaimed property list and see if you have money waiting to be claimed. Representatives from the State Treasurer’s office will be at the courthouse next Monday (April 20th) to assist Scott County residents with searching the list and making claims.

The Scott County Board of Supervisors adopted limited developmental ordinances for the unincorporated areas of Scott County on November 21, 2025.

Scott County residents affected by covered disasters may qualify for federally funded assistance through the Mississippi Housing Recovery program. The deadline for applications has been extended. Please visit their page for more details about the program and information on how to apply.

Based on feedback from your community leaders, MDA is further extending the program intake period for the Homeowner Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program, now closing on April 5 @ 11:59PM. After this date, no new applications will be accepted.
