Cal Fire has suspended all residential burning as of June 15, 2026. The suspension took effect at 8 a.m. on Monday and prohibits residential outdoor burning of landscape debris, including branches and leaves.

Yesterday afternoon, Medic 88, Engine 90, CAL FIRE/Placer County Fire Engine 2381, and Tahoe National Forest Engine 341 responded to a reported dirt bike accident in the Sugar Pine area.

While en route, responding units were flagged down by the patient’s family member, who was transporting the injured rider back toward the district. Crews quickly assessed the patient, who had sustained moderate injuries, and immediately initiated medical care.

A landing zone was established, where Care Flight Truckee safely landed and subsequently transported the patient to a regional trauma center for further treatment.

Foresthill Fire crews were assisted by Placer County Sheriff’s Office ground units and Falcon 30.

We would like to thank all responding agencies for their teamwork and coordination in providing rapid care and transport for this patient.

Help us build a more prepared Foresthill community.

Sign up through our website if you are interested in attending a free Community Hands-Only CPR class. Training sessions will be organized based on the number of community members who register. Once enough interest is received, we will reach out with class dates, times, and location information. Please note - each person attending must submit a form so we can control class size.

Today, the Foresthill Fire Protection District honors and remembers the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday and remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming our two newest full-time members to the Foresthill Fire Protection District family!

After successfully completing our New Hire Orientation Academy, Fire Engineer Juan Corrales and Firefighter Paramedic Cody McElwain are now ready to serve the Foresthill community.

Throughout the academy, both members trained extensively in: EMS, Fire Suppression, Ventilation, Wildland Firefighting, Technical Rescue Operations, and so much more!

Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have prepared them for the challenges ahead, and we are proud to have them as part of our team.
