Today, the Foresthill Fire Protection District honors and remembers the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday and remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

From all of us at Foresthill Fire Protection District, thank you to our fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming our two newest full-time members to the Foresthill Fire Protection District family!

After successfully completing our New Hire Orientation Academy, Fire Engineer Juan Corrales and Firefighter Paramedic Cody McElwain are now ready to serve the Foresthill community.

Throughout the academy, both members trained extensively in: EMS, Fire Suppression, Ventilation, Wildland Firefighting, Technical Rescue Operations, and so much more!

Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have prepared them for the challenges ahead, and we are proud to have them as part of our team.

Welcome to the District, Fire Engineer Corrales and Firefighter Paramedic McElwain!

AIR TANKER TRAINING IN OUR AREA

04/10/2026

Earlier today units from Foresthill and CalFire responded to a report of flames seen in the area of mile marker 14 on Mosquito Ridge Road. Reporting party was calling from El Dorado County and thought it might be a single tree on fire from a lightning strike. Crews were unable to locate any fire. That said, next week, after things dry out, we all need to be vigilant about potential “sleepers” which are smoldering fires from lightning strikes not fully extinguished by rain. See something report that something.
