Had a bit of an adventure up the mountain this week. A small landslide dumped a massive 40-inch tree right in the middle of the road — root ball and all.

Spent two full days (and a night up there) cutting that beast apart just to try to clear a path. In the end, it was too much for manpower alone, so I had to call in backup. A good friend came up with an excavator and we were finally able to pull it off the road and get things passable again.

Just another reminder that the mountains decide the schedule — and that good friends with heavy equipment are priceless. 💪🌲🚜

Picked up this vintage 1950’s Agricat dozer — complete with extra parts and a trailer. She’s got that old-school charm and plenty of potential. Can’t wait to get her running and see what she can do out on the property!

Spent the day wrenching on the bulldozer—broke a seal and forgot the metal rings for the exhaust coupler (of course). 😤 But hey, got the excavator up and running again, finally located the road culvert, and the road is mostly fixed now. Progress is progress! 💪🚜

Thinking of getting this excavator to clear the property! What do you think?? Needs some work, needs a ram rebuilt and possible track tensioner rebuild. Rebuilt newer engine, new swing motor, rebuilt cabin rams, and a ton more work. Also comes with a grapple.

So my mini excavator started leaking hydraulic fluid. Found many issues! For one the bolds to the swing motor were loose and 1 missing. The bolts holding the motor together were also loose. Found a broken seal inside the motor. Will now have to shop around for a replacement seal. These excavator's are not know for their parts availability!

Picked up a 16ft gate for $30! WOW! Going to use this on the upper access to try and keep people out.

Snagged this ripper and road comb for just $60 at a garage sale—mounts right up to a standard hitch, so it should fit the ATV no problem. Can’t wait to see what kind of trail work and road cleanup it can handle this summer. Hoping the ATV hitch can take the stress, but I’ve got plans to add a motorized lift like a box scraper down the line. Let’s see what this setup can do on The Promised Land!
