Concerned Citizens We are a nonprofit agency providing a range of social services in Clallam and Jefferson Counties. Concerned Citizens is a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency.

We provide social services to all folks, ages birth to senior citizens through a variety of programs. Our main office is in Forks, Washington with two other offices, one located in Port Angeles and one in Port Hadlock. The agency serves both Clallam and Jefferson counties and operates forteen different programs with funding from grants, State and Federal dollars, private pay clients, and donations.

One of our participants has been volunteering at the Elks Lodge in Forks, spending time connecting and building friendships with members while volunteering.

Moments like these are what Community Inclusion is all about: building relationships, contributing to the community, and creating spaces where everyone belongs.

We’re Hiring!

Direct Support Professional

What You’ll Do:

- Provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Community Inclusion, Community Engagement, and Individual Supported Employment
- Support individuals at job sites by coaching work tasks, building independence, and promoting job retention
- Assist people in exploring community activities such as volunteering, recreation, fitness, skill-based hobbies, and social opportunities
- Help individuals practice real world skills like public transportation, communication, problem solving, and self advocacy
- Encourage meaningful participation in the community, not just being present, but actively engaging and building connections
- Offer guidance, redirection, and support in a calm, respectful, and professional manner when challenges arise
- Document services accurately and communicate regularly with supervisors

Who Thrives in This Role:

- Enjoys being active and out in the community rather than sitting at a desk
- Confident navigating a variety of public settings and working independently
- Comfortable building professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
- Adaptable, reliable, and able to think on their feet
- Motivated by purpose-driven work and helping others build independence
- Experience in caregiving, coaching, mentoring, customer service, trades, or hands on roles is a plus (but not required)
