‼️ We’re a little late—but there’s no timeline on appreciation like this. ‼️🚨

Behind every siren, every response, every life we touch… there’s a voice that started it all.

This week, we recognize our Dispatchers—the unseen, often unheard heroes of EMS. The ones who answer the worst moments of someone’s life with steady hands and calm voices. The ones who turn our chaos into clarity before we even hear tones.

While we’re responding, they’re already there—talking a mother through CPR, helping someone control bleeding, calming panic, gathering the details that can mean the difference between life and death. Every call they take carries weight, and every decision they make matters.

The reality is this: our dispatchers save just as many lives as we do.

And while they’re doing all of that, they’re also watching out for us—tracking our status, keeping scenes safe, being that constant voice we rely on when things get unpredictable.

To the voices our patients hear first and the ones we rely on every single day—thank you for everything you do.

🚨 Promotion Announcement, Big news for our team 🚨

After a thorough process of evaluation, interviews, long days and conversations we’re excited to announce that Joel Hughes has officially accepted the role of Communication Center Manager.

Dispatch is the backbone of everything we do, They are the first voice our patients hear and the lifeline for our crews in the field. Strengthening that side of operations isn’t small—it directly impacts every call, every unit, every outcome.

Joel’s 9 year journey in dispatch speaks for itself—running every position, training others, supporting major system updates, and even stepping into leadership role over a year ago with us when it mattered most. His experience spans multiple EMS systems and high-level operations, including FEMA deployments.

Since joining our team, he’s made an immediate impact—promoting to Supervisor, leading training efforts, and helping strengthen our Communication Center from the inside out.

This promotion is well-earned, Well-deserved and we couldn’t be more confident in him leading the way forward.

CareFlite is deeply grateful for the outpouring of
support from our EMS and healthcare community during this difficult time.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Bryan Crane, Vice President of Ground Operations and Communications at CareFlite.

Bryan dedicated 23 years to CareFlite, beginning his career as an EMT and growing into a respected and trusted leader. He was known for his humility, empathy and unwavering support for those around him. Bryan had a remarkable ability to listen, lead with compassion and put others before himself.

Beyond his professional contributions, Bryan was a devoted husband and father, and his impact extended far beyond our organization.

The loss of Bryan is deeply felt across the CareFlite family and the communities we serve. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.

We ask that you keep Bryan’s family, friends and colleagues in your thoughts during this difficult time. Details regarding services will be shared as they become available.

Yesterday was a sad day for the EMS community as a whole. EMS agencies may find themselves in competition and on opposite sides of the isle on a variety of issues and political agendas, but at the end of the day, we are all family. Today we put those differences aside and mourn with our colleagues and friends at CareFlite as they navigate the loss of one of their own.

Praying for the Carefite family and all EMS during this tragic time.
