Good Morning, Forsyth!!!

It has been a pleasure serving as your Chief of Police! I am going to miss this office view. But I will enjoy it still from the pickup with a cup of coffee.

My time as chief has taught me several valuable lessons regarding the career. I have learned from many of you in our great community.

Your police department has taken significant steps forward in the past few years. I ask that each of you lean on your council members to continue this push forward by seeking a way to fund the police department here in Forsyth as it should be.

The public works department, fire department, and water department already have this set up. To continue to maintain a growing professional police department, we as a community will need to insist that this funding is allotted as well.

Remember, Mayberry is a myth!

Thank you all,

Chief Patrick Gray

Good Morning, Forsyth!!!

The sunrise this morning was incredible while on patrol.

A few quick reminders for the weekend and the week coming up.

We have a Halloween Parade scheduled for tomorrow (weather permitting). This parade will be on Main Street only and should be an absolute hoot for the kiddos. That being said, if you are in the area, be cautious if you are driving.

This next week is full of fun for Forsyth.

Several area businesses and churches are having trunk or treat for Halloween, including the Police Department and Fire Department!!

We have a circus in town! Shoals Bend Park has a big top circus in town later this week, and this should be a great show! Get the kiddos out and enjoy the performance of some great Show Men and Women as they make their way through the Ozarks.

Finally, and very exciting to all of us, there is a good chance that our very own Forsyth Panters will have a district football game here on the 31st. (not official yet)

All of this to say, there is a lot to enjoy and be mindful of this week here in town.

Stay safe,

Chief

The resurfacing project seems to be going quickly. MODOT has made it to McDonald's, got their sandwiches, and are headed back toward H Hwy.

Continue to be mindful of traffic in this area as this project develops. There is a pilot vehicle to guide you through. Thanks for your understanding in the matter.

Cooler weather is coming!!

Wanted to end my week's postings on a positive note! We employ some very dedicated workers here at the City of Forsyth. They are Forsyth-loving folks who will go the extra mile for the citizens!!

Great Job,

Chief

Received this week, August 2025

to whom it may concern:

I just wanted to take a quick moment and thank you for the kindness of a few of your city employees.

Yesterday afternoon my son was driving through the roundabout and 76 and 160 when he had an issue with his jeep. when he called me I was an hour and a half away.

I apologize that i don't have names, but during the time it took me to get down there one of your female police officers showed up, your fire chief, and your building inspector. they assisted him in getting his vehicle out of the roadway, then they all attempted to help him get the jeep running and your officer provided him with a cool place to sit while he waited for me to arrive. they didn't have to do any of this, your officer could have made him have it towed, they didn't have to help him at all, but they all went out of their way to assist him and for that i am extremely grateful. we were able to run into town and get a battery and get him back on his way, but while doing so your officer also made sure we knew she would hang around the area to keep an eye on his vehicle. I just want to thank all of them for going above and beyond. My son made a comment that he was thankful he broke down in a town with such nice and helpful people and it set my mind at ease that my son was being watched out for. Thank you for going above and beyond!

E-mails like this make your day after a rough week!!! Keep up the strong work!

This is a follow-up from the past few days. One of our buildings in the park, specifically, is damaged and likely financially beyond repair. It is in a hazardous condition. The pictures below show some of the damage, but not all. There will be other pics on Monday night at the meeting.

Good Afternoon, Forsyth!!

To start with, thank each and every one of you who have reached out to assist the city with the park. I, for one, am in awe at the support. Reminds me why I am here in the best little town around.

I have been asked to remind you all that Shadowrock Park is closed, for now. Be patient with us as we work through the process. I am sure the city leaders will be reaching out for help soon as well.

Good Afternoon, Forsyth!!

As most of us have noted, the water has receded, and the park is almost entirely out of the water. The bad news is that there is more damage than usual. Yes, I know the park always floods. I am a lifelong resident, too.

That being said, be patient with city crews and administration as we work through the clean-up process. There are only so many of us, and we are working other jobs as well in the city daily.

For now, please respect the danger associated with traversing in the park, even on foot, and give us time to get it cleaned up and safe. Some of the buildings have obviously had severe structural damage and are unsafe. So leave the urban exploring off your list for now.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing folks playing pickleball soon, just not doing donuts....

Ever wonder what the red line in front of the grocery store means? Does it mean real quick parking? Maybe I will sit here while my significant other grabs a coffee, and I won't have to go in?

No, that's the emergency parking area for first responders on a call for service, such as a fire issue, medical issue, etc.

Just a little observation from the Police and Fire Chiefs....Thanks
