City Hall Holiday Closure: September 7, 2026

City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

The regular meeting of City Council will take place on Tuesday, September 8, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 23 E. Main St., Forsyth.

Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8.

All power has been restored.

We anticipate full power restoration within 45 minutes to an hour.

Power Outage:

Forsyth Power is aware of a circuit outage affecting E. Main Street, Montpelier, and Hwy 42 South. All on call crews are currently responding with additional assistance on the way. Updates will be provided as they become available.

Reminder: I-75 Lane Closures 8/28–8/31

As part of a construction project for concrete slab replacement along I-75 southbound, GDOT will have extended lane closures near exit 187 this weekend, 8/28–8/31. Closures are expected to begin Friday evening and continue through Monday morning, with two southbound lanes closed while two lanes remain open.

Please exercise caution when traveling through the construction area.

Kynette Basketball Court Reopened:

The basketball court at Kynette Park has reopened. Resurfacing is complete, and the court is ready for the community to enjoy.
