Our Purdy 5th graders took their final lap through the halls as we celebrated them with a special send-off! Families gathered to honor our graduates with a breakfast, video tribute, gifts, and more. πŸŽ‰

It was a memorable morning filled with cherished memories, laughter, well wishes, and celebration as we recognized this outstanding group of students and their accomplishments.

A special thank you to our Purdy PTO, staff, families, Festival Foods, and the SDFA Technology Department for helping make this event so meaningful. We are incredibly proud of these amazing young people and can't wait to see all the great things they will accomplish as they begin their middle school journey! πŸ‘

πŸŽ‰ Mrs. Recob's 5th grade class at Barrie Elementary celebrated the close of the school year with a 5th grade breakfast. Parents joined their children to reminisce about their time at Barrie School. They ate, answered some trivia questions and each student got a special award meant just for them. We closed out the breakfast with some thoughtful gifts.

Remember...Once a Barrie Bronco, Always a Barrie Bronco. πŸ’™

πŸ“š Learning History Through Experience!

FAMS 6th graders recently participated in an engaging multi-day learning experience focused on the rich history and cultures of the Indigenous peoples of Wisconsin.

On Thursday, May 28, students traveled to several important local sites, including the Panther Intaglio along Riverside Drive, Indian Mounds County Park, and Aztalan State Park. Through these visits, students explored effigy mounds, learned about the Mississippian culture, and gained a deeper understanding of the people who lived in this region long ago. Back at school, students continued their learning by creating baskets, making beadwork, and playing traditional games.

The experience continued with a visit to the Hoard Museum, where students learned even more about the Indigenous peoples who once called the Fort Atkinson area home.
On Tuesday, students were honored to welcome guest speaker Craig Bonin from the Indian Community School. Through personal stories, interactive activities, and thoughtful discussion, Craig helped students better understand both the history and the present-day experiences of tribal nations in Wisconsin.

FAMS is grateful to the Hoard Historical Museum for its continued partnership and support in making this meaningful educational opportunity possible each year. Thank you for helping bring history to life for our students! πŸ‘
