To unlock your mind and body's full potential, you must be healthy. While we can make ourselves look great on the outside appearance, it will not do us much good if our inside is not great. Your body keeps a record of all the food you feed it, the amount of sleep/rest you provide it, and the exercises you do. Let’s encourage one another to get back on track with our wellness.

Here are some tips to get your inside health balanced.

Body (Physically) -
• Eat healthy well-balanced foods.
• Exercise.
• Get plenty of sleep.

Mind (Mentally)
• Take deep breaths or meditate.
• Practice self-care.
• Focus on positive things in your life.

Are you one of those individuals who dreads Mondays? Why is it, and how do you start your Monday right? Below are some tips to help you look forward to your Mondays, and kick start your week.

1) Write a “To Do” list. Consider that you may actually have to make this Monday list on Friday.
2) Make sure you take your lunch break. Sometimes, you may think you have to work through lunch, and if you’re hungry, you will start to feel miserable.
3) Do not skip meals, especially, breakfast. Remember., you need to fuel your body to be able to perform.
4) Create a morning routine. This will help you stay focused and organized.
5) Make sure that you plan your “stopping” point. Once you finish your work task at hand, turn everything off until the next workday (unless it’s an emergency and cannot wait until the next day).
6) Get plenty of sleep so you can reenergize.

It’s ok, not to feel ok. These feelings/emotions are normal as your mind reacts to day-to-day stressors in your life. You don’t have to allow these feelings/emotions to control your thoughts. You have the power of choice on how you react to certain situations.
If you find yourself feeling these emotions & you feel like it is creating a potential long-term problem, seek help.

There are numerous of things which impact, whether positively or negatively, our overall wellness. If our lives are not balanced, we tend to “burn out” at some point. For example, if you are not getting enough sleep, your focus will be off, you will experience a decrease in energy, increase in agitation, just to name a few things. The same goes for if your diet is off, or you’re not exercising. These can create feelings of being lethargic as well as contribute to some medical conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, etc. Here are some tips on wellness you can begin to add to your daily/weekly/yearly schedule
1) Schedule a wellness check with your Primary Doctor.
2) Write down a workout schedule routine - Mon/Wed/Fri or Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.
3) If you are trying to gain/lose weight, schedule an appointment with the nutritionist.
4) Try to go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time – between 7 to 9 hours.
5) Foster friendships with those in your same career filed, to discuss best practices, and training opportunities to expand your professional development.

Mondays can be such a drag for some, while it could be a push for others. What does it all boil down to? Perception and attitude. What you think and feel about it. Don't knock off a Monday, just simply shift your perception of it. Here are a few tips to help retrain the brain:

1) Spend some time on Sundays writing out your plan for the week, this includes Mondays.

2) When you wake up on Mondays, remind yourself how this is a new week, new chapter, and/or fresh start to create great things.

3) Schedule something fun to do on Mondays, either in the morning, afternoon, or evening. This could be something like going to your favorite place to eat, or a movie night, and so forth.

4) Create a small vision board or collage you work on just on Mondays for the week.

Remember, it's all about your mindset, and you are in control of it!
