Congratulations to SFC George and SFC Smith from Eagle Troop, 2-15 CAV Troop on your Drill Sergeant De-Hat Ceremony. Your dedication, discipline, and belief in something greater than yourselves shaped more than just Soldiers, you strengthened the Army.

Under the cold cover of darkness, Bounty Hunter Troop, 2-15 CAV Trainees move forward together. Tired, muddy, and unsure yet unwilling to quit. Every crawl and every breath under fire forges trust and grit, pushing yourself to lengths you never thought possible.

Congratulations to these Trainees for completing the Night Infiltration Course.

Copperhead Troop, 2-15 CAV, 194th AR BDE recently executed a Thunder Run, marking the beginning of the transformation from civilian to Soldier!

Permanent Party personnel assigned to the 194th AR BDE took on the 2-15 CAV Spur Ride, demonstrating the discipline, resilience, commitment, and teamwork expected of every U.S. Army Soldier. This video captures their experience because standards aren’t rushed, and leadership by example takes time. This series of events focused primarily on professional development, specifically increasing competence, physical fitness, and tactical tasks associated with being a Soldier.

We hold ourselves to the same expectations we set for our trainees, modeling the character, toughness, and professionalism they are developing on their path to becoming Soldiers. The standard is not just taught, it is lived.

The Spur Ride included the following events:
1) Layout / In brief
2) EPFA (Expert Physical Fitness Assessment)
3) TDC (Team Development Course)
4) EST (Engagement Skills Trainer) Stress Shoot
5) Helicopter Air Assault
6) CBRN Chamber
7) Day Infiltration Course
8) Unknown Distance Ruck march
9) Troop Lanes [sUAS Recon, Vehicle Identification, Weapons Assembly and Disassembly, React to UAS, TCCC, and Call for Fire)
10) Ruck march to 2-15 CAV HQ
11) Spur Board / Patrol Base Operations
12) Spur Ceremony

Last weekend, beginning bright and early at 0400 on Friday until 0900 Saturday, 2-15 CAV conducted a challenging Spur Ride with support and participation from the 194th Armor Brigade, testing Soldiers physically, mentally, and as a team.

A Spur Ride is a time-honored Cavalry tradition and rite of passage in which Troopers earn their spurs by completing a continuous series of demanding tasks that evaluate endurance, discipline, teamwork, and knowledge of Cavalry history and warrior skills.
Throughout the event, Troopers executed a helicopter air assault, a challenging team development course, many miles of rucking, a CBRN chamber, and numerous other events designed to push them beyond their comfort zones.

Operating with little rest and under constant pressure, participants relied on one another to overcome every obstacle. As leaders assisting in the process of developing Soldiers for the armored force, permanent party personnel are expected to embody the standards set forth before the trainees that receive their training from the 194th AR BDE.

This Spur Ride reinforced the Cavalry ethos and proved that Troopers of 2-15 CAV are ready to meet any challenge together.

The Night Infiltration Course, aka, NIC was born from WWII-era combat training.

This course puts Soldiers under live machine gun fire and battlefield simulations—teaching them to stay calm, move with purpose, and trust their team under extreme stress. For Cavalry Scouts in training, it’s a defining moment in their transformation from civilian to warrior.
