Chouteau County SAR -Search & Rescue The Chouteau County Search and Rescue is a non-profit organization operating under the auspices of t Don Allison, LeRoy Taylor and Earl Taylor as directors.

Chouteau County SAR was formed April 4, 1972 by President Doug Williams. Vice President at the time was Bob Hume and Secretary/Treasurer was Steve Miller. At the time there were approx. 40 members from Fort Benton, Big Sandy, Geraldine, Highwood, and all of Chouteau County. Today's Chouteau County SAR consists of approx. 20 motivated, trained volunteers from throughout the county, six of the membe

rs being Law Enforcement personnel. These volunteers have varied training and experience from fire departments, emergency medical services, river operations, ice water rescue and embankment rescue. This unit has a number of specialized craft for both land and river searches and recoveries. Additionally, the Search and Rescue is the unit responsible for extrication of trapped individuals in farm and vehicle accidents and is very well equipped with modern equipment and training. They search for the lost and missing. Search and Rescue is always interested in gaining new members. We provide training opportunities but also like to gain experienced members too.
