The Fort Bliss Army Community Service (ACS), Survivor Outreach Services mission is to build a unified program, which embraces and reassures Survivors that they are continually linked to the Army Family for as long as they desire. Our Purpose is to deliver on the Army’s commitment to Families of the Fallen by connecting you with people and services that can help you throughout the grieving process.

This past weekend, we had the honor of attending the 20-year reunion of the Battle of Ramadi, a gathering centered not only on history, but on the Gold Star families who carry that legacy every single day.

Nearly two decades ago, the Battle of Ramadi became one of the most intense and devastating battles of the Iraq War. While Soldiers fought with extraordinary courage in the streets of Ramadi, families at home would later face a different kind of battle—one defined by loss, resilience, and a lifetime of remembrance.

At this reunion, Gold Star families stood alongside the Soldiers who served, united by their shared love for those who never came home. A memorial was dedicated in honor of the fallen, creating a sacred space where names, memories, and legacies will forever live.

This reunion would not have been possible without the leadership and dedication of Lieutenant General (Retired) Sean MacFarland, his wife Linda, and America’s mighty warriors, whose commitment to honoring the fallen and supporting their families made this meaningful gathering a reality.

For our Gold Star families, the sacrifice did not end when the fighting stopped. Their strength, grace, and unwavering love ensure their heroes are never forgotten. We remember. We honor. We stand with you. 🇺🇸

✈️❄️ Snowball Express Send-Off! ❄️✈️

This morning, some of our selected survivors headed out for the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Snowball Express — a special program dedicated to the children and families of our fallen military heroes.

Snowball Express gives our families a chance to connect, heal, and create joyful memories through a week filled with incredible activities, entertainment, and support. It’s a time for our survivors to be surrounded by others who understand their journey and to experience a little extra magic during the holiday season.

And of course… Santa himself stopped by to wish our families a safe and wonderful trip before they boarded! 🎅🏻 ✨

We wish all of our survivors a meaningful, fun-filled, and heartwarming Snowball Express experience. 💛

Last night, our Survivor Outreach Services community came together for a truly heartfelt Heroes Tree Lighting and Cookie Exchange. During Silent Night, our survivors placed their hero’s ornament on the tree — a moment filled with love, reflection, and deep emotion.

The room was quiet, the lights were soft, and you could feel the strength and legacy of every hero honored. It was a beautiful reminder that while our heroes may no longer be with us, their light continues to shine through their families and through this community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared cookies, shared stories, and supported one another. Nights like these remind us why coming together matters so much. 💛🎄
