Quarter After Quarter, the Standard Climbs ⚔️

Soldiers of the have spent the last few months grinding, training, and sharpening their edge 🗡️ for the brigade’s Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) of the Quarter Board. This competition pushed every competitor through three demanding rounds that tested fitness, discipline, confidence, and mastery of the profession. Only the most committed prevailed.

Round One: Dagger Soldiers arrived at the to take the Army Fitness Test (AFT). To advance to round two, the Soldier had to pass the AFT 🏋🏼‍♂️.

Round Two: While in AGSUs, Dagger Soldiers met in the brigade Hammerhead where they stood before the brigade and battalion Command Sgt. Majs. to recite the Soldier’s Creed and the Creed of the Noncommissioned Officer, verbatim. Failure to be able to recite both creeds resulted in a NO‑GO ❌.

Round Three: The final round of the Soldier and NCO of the Quarter Board required the remaining Dagger Soldiers to answer five questions from each Command Sgt. Maj. These questions came from any Army regulation of their choosing. When all three rounds concluded, only two Soldiers remained.

From Task Force Stinger 🦂, 5th Armored Brigade recognizes Staff Sgt. Michael Barnes as NCO of the Quarter, and from Task Force Wolverine 🐗, Spc. Ronan Cotter has earned the title of Soldier of the Quarter. These Soldiers dominated every round and set a pace that demands everything from those who follow.

The is calling for the next wave of competitors. Will you answer the call?

SHARPEN THE EDGE! ⚔️
