Each weekday starting on November 30th and ending on Dec. 18th (Monday – Friday) we will post a question that can either be found on our webpage: or one of our partner’s web pages. Once you have the correct answer, enter it in the form found at the link below AND comment on the Facebook post that you submitted the answer. DO NOT COMMENT WITH THE ANSWER! The Fort Bliss Commissary will be closed Friday, Nov. 13 due to a COVID-19 positive employee in the front office. Since the positive case was isolated to the front office area, the risk of customer exposure is extremely minimal. We are working with the Defense Commissary Agency team to expedite the reopening and we will post updates as we receive them. Thank you for your patience as we work to keep our community as safe as possible.

*ANNOUNCEMENT* The amended come to work safe, live safe memo, in effect today, aligns Fort Bliss to the City of El Paso restrictions.

For those who like the 'bottom line up front':
The 3rd amendment from October 26th is still in effect, this memo rescinds and changes the October 16th guidance to include the following:

1) All personnel are to adhere to the local authority’s directives regarding essential activities, travel and facial coverings - here or elsewhere.
2) Adds Grandparents in the 'immediate family member' category for in-home visitors, it now includes Parents and siblings/in-laws.

More than 70,000 American Soldiers boarded transports destined for the shores of North Africa, and the men of the 1/1 were among them. The Soldiers loaded their light tanks aboard three oil tankers that had been converted into the first landing ships (LSTs) of the war, under the flag of the Royal Navy. The Soldiers were unaware of their destination as the convoy set out for Oran, Algeria, escorted by five armed trawlers.

As we officially kick off our #Operation_Torch remembrance and celebration, we are reminded that the Soldiers of Operation Torch did not know where they were headed or what they would do when they arrived after departing England. All the brave #IronSoldiers knew was that they were headed to defend the nation against its enemies.

We encourage all units to reflect on these sacrifices made, the selfless service exhibited, and the loyalty of the first troops of #OldIronsides today. Make sure to check back this afternoon for a special message from 1st Armored Division's current Commanding General, Major General Sean C. Bernabe!
