"Bury it deeper next time!" Great recovery training this morning for FMT.
The Army has expanded its tattoo policy to be more inclusive.
To help compete for top talent, the Army has updated its regulations for tattoos, cutting processing times for new recruits who have the body art.
Secretary of the Army Christine E. Wormuth made it official by signing the updated directive that allows recruits and current Soldiers to receive tattoos on their hands, the back of their ears and the back of their necks.

The Gunslingers held an SFRG meeting today at Biggs Park. Big thanks to the Fort Bliss USO for their support! The team voted to conduct Pie-in-the-Face and a Dunk Tank for the next SFRG fundraiser! Thank you to all the Soldiers and Families who supported with their time and energy!!
A-2 THAAD "Gunslingers" is the only THAAD unit to have participated in Roving Sands 2022 (RS22). We were so fortunate to be collocated with our 2-44 ADA brethren during this realistic, complex, and multi-echelon training exercise. Our Soldiers performed admirably, training on and executing Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO) tasks and drills. We send a heartfelt THANK YOU to our Families who held down the fort at home while we roamed in the desert.
A-2 THAAD and A/2-44 ADA (C-RAM) are currently "deployed" and co-located in support of Roving Sands 2022, Fort Bliss TX. More RS22 images of our outstanding Soldiers will be posted soon!
Gunslinger Soldiers and Families! Please join us for the Little Gunslingers Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday 13APR22 from 1630-1730 at our battery motor pool. All treats and goodies are provided by the SFRG. Come get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny and have a little fun on us!

SPC Bird (left) and SPC Orelus (right) of A-2 THAAD shared their thoughts on the importance of su***de prevention and ways we can implement change. SPC Orelus would love to see the Su***de Prevention Program become more personal like the SHARP and EO programs by having Brigade representatives. SPC Bird believes that change can start with conversations and approachability in the barracks, “Under the uniform we’re all just people. Sometimes people just need a little talk to get out of their head and hear that life will be okay.”

This week the priority for the Gunslingers was to conduct leave counselings, update recall rosters, perform high risk review assessments, and Golden Triangle verification. The Battery also conducted a diagnostic ACFT from 28-30JUL. For Swift and Sure day, A-2 conducted AR-670-1, JBCP operator-level tasks, Profiles, Dispatching Procedures, CLS, and POV safety classes. The Battery also celebrated the formation’s newest US citizen, SPC Garcia! Congratulations!
The Soldiers of A-2 THAAD raised $3,151 in support of the Army Emergency Relief 2021 Campaign. LT Bondoc’s initiative was a smashing success for the Gunslinger family as they were able to pie their favorite peers and leaders and participated in a nighttime water balloon fight. We are proud of everyone for contributing to a nonprofit organization with a mission statement to that helps Soldiers in need of financial support.

From the Gunslinger family to our families back home, and to our fellow Soldiers deployed across the globe, we wish you all a happy holidays 🎄🎁
A few weeks ago, A-2 THAAD Soldiers had the distinct honor of receiving their combat patches. This signifies their selfless service, willingness to sacrifice, and commitment to the mission while deployed to a combat region.

Today, we sadly said farewell to a phenomenal NCO within our Battery. SGT Azam kept our Motorpool running smoothly, and was never without a smile on his face. His presence will be greatly missed, but his Soldiers, peers, and mentors could not be more excited for what’s to come for him. Best of luck SGT Azam!
Our very own SPC Harper was featured on 11th ADA Imperial Brigade’s page. Go check it out!

A-2 THAAD,
For the past two Fridays, A-2 has dominated the 1-43 ADA BN “R time” competitions. Last Friday was a basketball, knockout style game. No other batteries even came close to our winning record. Yesterday there was an ACFT-themed relay race. We tied with another unit, and the tie breaker was a commander sprint which CPT White won easily. We are looking forward to going 3/3 next week and continuing to show our new Battalion that A-2 doesn’t lose.
