Today SGT Barhorst was promoted to SSG Barhorst. SSG Barhorst is our only 89B NCO currently in Alpha Company. He has worked hard preparing for upcoming ranges, leading and mentoring his team, and overall being a team player! Keep up the hard work SSG Barhorst, we look forward to seeing you grow and succeed as a SSG!
Congratulations to CPL Cole, SPC Delacruz, and SPC Tamayo on earning your Army Good Conduct Medal. In order to achieve this award you must display exemplary behavior, and fidelity. Continue being an example for your peers and keep up the hard work!

“Our Workhorse of the Week (13-20 Mar): SPC Zander Hoffman from A Company.
SPC Hoffman is a Petroleum Supply Specialist who’s contribution to supporting the brigade’s aerial gunnery was peerless. He ensured his platoon’s equipment was ready to deliver quality fuel across the training area. He also performed over 1/2 of the filter effectiveness tests on the fuel equipment.
There is no doubt that SPC Hoffman pulled the weight”

Fuel & Water Platoon executing another successful fuel resupply to keep the aircraft in the air!
Today, 3 members of the Fuel and Water Platoon were awarded the Army Achievement Medal from for their support conducting refuel operations for TF Iron Dragon’s NTC rotation. Way to go Outlaws!
Our Distro Soldiers kicked off support to aerial gunnery by transporting key equipment out to support the Battalion’s FARPs!
Today, the Outlaws wrapped up the work week with an ASU inspection, followed by the reenlistment of one of our hard-working NCOs!
1st Armored Division
As we celebrate , it's important to reflect on how the 1st Armored Division came to be , and how we began identifying ourselves.
Maj. Gen. Adna Chaffee combined the historic Armored Corps triangle with the patch of the 7th Cavalry Brigade (Mechanized) to create the famous triangle patch proud wear today. It wasn't until 30 years later that the "Old Ironsides" tab was attached.

Effective immediately, Fort Bliss will operate at essential services only: cancellation of the Spooktacular Halloween event; closures of Biggs Park, Underwood Golf Course, Bowling Center, Centennial Club, Soldiers Activity Center/Warrior Zone, and Tennis Courts.
The Child Development Centers will operate at current levels, Fitness Centers and lap swim at the Aquatic Center remain open, however, no instructor-led classes and no change to ACS services.
The main Exchange, Shoppettes, Military Clothing Sales, Commissary, Class VI, and Barbershops will remain open. Restaurants and Freedom Crossing will be limited to 25% capacity. All other retail stores will be closed. RV park remains open.

Announcement from the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Sean Bernabe:
Since early October, El Paso and surrounding communities have seen wide-spread transmission of COVID-19. We continue to watch these trends closely and stay in contact with City Leaders.
Earlier today, in a press release, the El Paso COVID-19 Task Force highlighted three sources of community spread: (1) visiting local stores; (2) eating at restaurants and bars; and (3) traveling to and from Mexico. The Mayor and other officials are taking action within El Paso to address these three areas.
Unfortunately, we continue to see steep increases in active cases on Fort Bliss. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 within the Fort Bliss Community, we must take aggressive action now.
In light of the most recent decisions of El Paso officials and the restrictions they put in place, I have made the decision to adjust our posture on Fort Bliss. These changes will ensure we protect the health of our Fort Bliss Community while also supporting and remaining in synch with our El Paso neighbors.
Today, I signed the Third Amended Fort Bliss Come to Work Safe, Live Safe Order. Here are a few key changes from the updated order:
(1) Curfew for Fort Bliss. Travel deemed non-mission essential will cease from 10 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. This curfew aligns exactly with the City of El Paso.
(2) Visitor Restrictions. The only authorized persons within residence are members of the household and immediate family members or those present for the purpose of conducting authorized essential activities. This restriction is in alignment with the City of El Paso.
(3) Teleworking. Unit commanders and/or supervisors are encouraged to utilize teleworking to reduce the number of personnel physically present in the work place on a daily basis.
(4) Cancellation of Trunk-or-treating events. Unit-sponsored trunk-or-treat events are no longer authorized. This cancellation also aligns with El Paso guidance. The MWR drive-thru event is the only remaining authorized Halloween event on Fort Bliss.
(5) Off-post dining and restaurant services. While within the greater El Paso area, service members are prohibited from sit-down dining or “dining-in” at off-post restaurants. Non-service members are highly encouraged to follow these instructions.
There are no additional changes to current facility hours and operations as the previous amended Come to Work Safe, Live Safe order specifies.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and compliance with these new measures. Again, it is imperative that we take aggressive action now to help flatten the curve within the Fort Bliss Community and in the greater El Paso area.
