SGT Dominus Simpson received the Army Achievement Medal for being the Distinguished Honor Graduate in his BLC class.

David Shadmani, of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, had the honor of throwing the games first pitch before 7,284 fans at the El Paso Chihuahuas baseball game at Southwest University Park while celebrating his birthday on June 8, 2023. Cobra King families enjoyed a wonderful night at the ballpark this past Thursday. The El Paso Chihuahuas beat Oklahoma City 4-3 in the tenth inning. 1SG Shadmani threw out the opening pitch to celebrate his birthday, and we learned that our Platoon Leaders aren’t very good at trivia. First in!
We will show the world why we are the best. Today squads and sections from Cobra King competed in the first squad competition of 2023. Each team completed 1000 squats, 500 push ups, and 200 pull ups in ballistic vests. Each individual had to complete two hundred meter tire flips before and after the team exercises. took first place with a time of 32 minutes and 28 seconds. First in!

The boys are back, Cobra King has been busy killing it at crew gunnery and Platoon Live Fire. We are happy to continue the tradition of leading from the front and standing ready for the call. FIRST IN!!!
Cobra King has finished their Team and Squad Live Fire training and will be heading home soon. These Infantrymen have endured some cold rainy nights to now be ready for anything they are called to execute. Our best Team performance was from SPC Holmes and our top Squad was led by SSG Charette. Congratulations to these amazing Infantrymen, FIRST IN !!!
Our very own SGT Rettus was able to represent all of 1AD this past week in the Army's Best Medic Competition. Outstanding job and representation of our unit. FIRST IN!!!
This morning Cobra King had the pleasure of seeing 18 of it's Infantrymen and women receive their Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB) after a month long train up and week long testing process. A well deserved badge for these outstanding soldiers.
This afternoon we promoted three of our own, SSG Ingram, SSG Howard, and SGT Aboushehata. Their commitment and work has finally paid off.
A great way to end the week, congratulations to all of the new EIB holders and our newly promoted NCOs. FIRST IN!!!
Congratulations to our very own King 7, who was promoted to 1SG today. Now, 1SG Shadmani has been with Cobra King for just under two months and has already helped to take the company through NTC and soon EIB. A most deserving NCO and leader. FIRST IN!!!
Over the last month Cobra King has conducted simulated combat, live fires, and combat regeneration. The company has proven its place in the BN and BDE with exceptional ex*****on and maintenance throughout their time at NTC. We have reached the point where soldiers will begin heading home for some much need rest and time with families. Please allow your soldier time to rest and reset when they return home. Also, please be easy on the company barber, he is still in training. FIRST IN!
Cobra King closed out their final training exercise before NTC. Squads conducted room clearances with live ammunition and executed in both day and night conditions. The company has demonstrated exceptional performance and leadership in getting so far in such a small time. First In!
Cobra King completes the first stages of this week's training with Team Live Fire Shoort House (Battle Drill 6). The key to their success has been the countless iterations of drilling that they have conducted. Next we have our Squad Live Fire Shoot House and then on to NTC. First In!
Cobra King completed their Squad Live Fire Exercise displaying exceptional leadership and lethality. Squads operated day and night in temperatures hitting 105 degrees and worked to improve their craft in preperation for NTC. First In!
Cobra King soldiers prepare for Squad level live fire exercises beginning tomorrow which include the assault and clearance of a Trench. Cobra King Medics practice casualty triage and treatment, ensuring soldiers safety in current and future operations. First In!

Cobra King just wrapped up company STX and LFX. From conducting defense, movement to contact and attack lanes to integrating enablers in a combined arms live fire, Cobra King proved yet again that we are the spearhead of the battalion. First In!

Cobra King is home! 3 platoons, 2 sapper squads, 1 fire support team, 1 field maintenance team. 12 days, 42 missions, 6 days of company-external and BN level evaluation, and 116km road march back with 100% of the combat power that we deployed with. First In!
The platoons wrapped up the 2nd phase of PLT STX with external evaluation today. Next up will be evaluation by Bandit 6. First In!

Quick update from PLT STX! Building on the fundamentals, as this is the first time many of our infantrymen have maneuvered as a mechanized platoon through complex terrain outside gunnery in over 2 years.
Platoons have been rotating as friendly and opposing forces, focusing on movement to contact, defense, and attack on an urban objective.
Our company FiST processed fire missions, the Raven UAS was flown to provide ISR support, and our attached Sappers focused on building protective obstacles to increase the complexity for subsequent lanes.

Huge shoutout to the Cobra King field maintenance team (FMT) and armament team for keeping us in the fight. From road marching the Bradleys almost 60 miles to the training area with no issues, to sustaining gunnery and PLT LFX with one of the best combat power slants in the division (as commended by both the Deputy Commanding Generals of Operations and Sustainment during their visits), our maintenance team continues to crush it!
Cobra King completed platoon live fire over the past fews days, closing out our time in the field since 9FEB. From fire team live fire and GST through platoon live fire with a dismounted assault, our infantrymen and enablers have taken a huge stride towards ensuring our company is ready and lethal. First In!

Amidst the on-going Operation Allies Welcome support, the BN took a few hours to host a Bandit Boo Night for our families. Thank you so much to our Cobra King FRG for organizing the candy drive and decorating the spookiest Bradley (next to a deadlined one)! Have a safe and fun Halloween weekend!
Cobra King has been instrumental in leading the way to establish the area our battalion is tasked to support. The efforts our Soldiers have been putting in have not gone unnoticed, and has direct impacts on the quality of life for the Afghan guests. Very proud of all the hard work Cobra King has put in.
