Ready First... Always Win!

----------------
Friends and Families of the Ready First Combat Team:
On behalf of Command Sergeant Major Carey and the Soldiers of Ready First, greetings from the Republic of Korea. I am an Iron Soldier, and I am thrilled and honored to join the Ready First family and look forward to working with our great volunteers and families in the future. Command Sergeant Major Carey and I extend our deepest appreciation for all you are doing to support our great Soldiers from Fort Bliss; and know that you are in our thoughts while we continue to carry out our mission here on the Korean Peninsula.
The list of accomplishments from across the brigade are too numerous to mention, but rest assured, your Soldiers are executing a variety of operations that directly support our Nation’s vital interests in South Korea. Whether it is tank gunnery, artillery tables, marksmanship training, medical exercises, or delivering world-class food in our dining facility, your Ready First Soldiers are enthusiastically accomplishing the many missions they face each and every day.
I am particularly proud of the relationships our team has forged with our allies. As you all know, the United States shares a special relationship with South Korea, and Ready First Soldiers are doing their part to strengthen this special bond with a resolute determination to build readiness through shared experiences and training. In my initial interactions with Soldiers and leaders from across the brigade, it is abundantly clear that they are proud to be a part of the 2nd Infantry/ROK-US Combined Division, thrilled to represent 1st Armored Division and the Fort Bliss community, and are always ready to “Fight Tonight.”
As we continue to carry out our mission in the coming weeks and months, know that you remain in our thoughts and prayers. On behalf of all the Ready First Soldiers and leaders, thank you for your stalwart support and love – it is our most precious resource.

(1/x) It is always important to know those who came before... 27 years ago on 20December22, NATO began their mission to implement the ceasefire agreed to in the between the Bosnians and the Serbians. During the course of this conflict, the , then known as the , earned their motto through their determination in constructing a across the Sava River. After three days of preparation, construction began on the 20th, when the Sava was at its high water mark. The 300m river would eventually burst its banks due to snow melt. The resulting bridge ended up being more than 500m!

Over the next days, weeks, and months, we will be telling that story through news clippings from the time, saved by some unknown leader in the company. If you were part of this mission and would like your story told, please reach out!
