Pictured below are the most recent graduates of the installation’s Equal Opportunity Course. The Equal Opportunity Leaders Course focuses on equal opportunity and diversity management. It prepares graduates to perform the duties of an Equal Opportunity Leader at both the battalion and company level. Graduates of the course will possess the skills required to advise commanders in the conduct of informal equal opportunity complaints, conduct unit level equal opportunity training, assist the commander in climate assessment, assist in the preparation of special ethnic observances, and serve as the primary resource manager of equal opportunity matters within the unit. The Crusaders have undergone plenty of transitioning since redeploying, and Soldiers such as SPC Jolicouer have stepped up to the plate relying on superb experience to assist with training and integrating new personnel as we prepare for upcoming missions. SGT McClinton/Mack said farewell to the Crusader family as he took his talents to Korea for a second tour. The Crusader family was lucky enough to have SGT Mack take on several roles that was instrumental to our success whether it was leading training for Launcher Platoon, System Maintenance NCOIC, and of course on the gridiron as a member of both the flag football and ultimate football teams. Good luck with your new chapter SGT Mack. Both you and your leadership will be missed.

On September 6th, the Crusader Battery held a blood drive in support of all global readiness operations. C BTRY’s Fire Control PL LT Griffith coordinated the event through the installation ASBP IOT to aid future emergencies whether in combat operations or CONUS situations. The ASBP ensures global military medical centers, hospitals, and clinics have immediate and easy access to safe and viable blood and blood products.

Warrior of the Week: 4 September 2022

PFC Logan Williamson
Duty Position: Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator-Maintainer(14T)

PFC Williamson has been adamant about his desire to progress within his career volunteering for consecutive Troop schools at the GIF. Within the past month, PFC Williamson has completed both the installation fuel handler course and field sanitation. Although PFC Williamson was recently promoted, he has expressed extreme desire to thrust himself into a leadership position when the opportunity presents itself. Acting on his leadership aspirations, PFC Williamson recently started preparing himself for upcoming Soldier of the quarter opportunities by studying with our more tenured personnel who host study sessions within the barracks.

Continuing the Crusader tradition of accumulating wins, this week C BTRY added to the NCO Corps promoting SPC Barber to CPL. CPL Barber added to his own personal win column, being recognized alongside WO1 Fiore and SPC Leithead for their efforts as ECS Crew 1 including both prompt certification and training other crews.

Charlie Warrior of the Week: 14 August 2022

PFC Claire Surface
Duty Position: Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (74D)

Although PFC Surface currently serves as the CBRN Specialist for the Crusaders, she recently was assigned to a new role. When she isn’t busy preparing her superiors and battle buddies to fend off chemical attacks during our next field operations, she resides in the orderly room serving as a piece of our new assembly system designed for administration glory. PFC Surface arrived to the unit highly motivated and eager to tackle any mission and that drive still remains. She wasn’t expecting to receive cross training upon arrival, but her transition to performing the daily duties has been practically flawless to the point that she’s currently training others who recently transitioned into the Orderly room.

Crusader of the Week: 7 August 2022

SGT Johana Ramirez
Duty Position: Patriot Enhanced Operator and Maintainer (14T)

SGT Ramirez’s support of not only her Soldiers, but every individual who is apart of the Crusader battery remains superior. SGT Ramirez was committed to Soldier care and support well before she joined the NCO Corps, and her transition has only increased her efforts. She truly that NCO that you call during your time of need regardless of the nature of the situation and any individual acquainted with her can vouch for that. SGT Ramirez’s efforts have played a huge role in meshing together both old and new Launcher platoon personnel resulting in a close-knit family. Her overall proficiency as a 14T has consistently placed her in positions to train both her Soldiers and her peers. As she grows as an NCO and individual, she continues to embody all that means to be an excellent leader.

Charlie Warrior of the Week: 31 July 2022

PFC Amanda Figueroa
Duty Position: Patriot Enhanced Operator and Maintainer (14T)

PFC Figueroa’s actions to do whatever is necessary to ensure the success of the unit are beyond unmatched. She remains proactive and is always willing to take initiative based off of her commitment to excellence and the Crusaders overall. Recently, the BN PAO attended the installation SHARP Foundation Academy, so PFC Figueroa took it upon herself to fill his void attending events throughout the BN in order to fulfill his duties and ensure that the unit’s Public Affairs program was still actively supporting the unit’s mission. PFC Figueroa consistently performs the duties well above her rank and does so without any orders. She currently resides in the orderly room but has been actively engaged with training the less experienced 14Ts when she isn't allocating time towards administration duties and assisting with maintaining the PAO program.

PV2 Williams was promoted to PFC marking a new chapter within his story as a Crusader. PFC Williams arrived to the unit less than a year ago but has quickly made his impact serving on RSOP for both Table VIII certifications and Roving Sands. PFC Williams remains eager to learn and become more proficient as a 14T, and we look forward to watching him continuing to grow as a member of the Crusader family.

Join us in congratulating newly promoted SGT Leo Watson,as he joined the NCO Corps earlier this week. SGT Watson is the CBRN NCOIC for the Crusaders and been a great addition to the family since his arrival. He consistently incorporates his love for his cooking his native foods from Jamaica into his work life by volunteering to cook for FRG events, and he’s extremely proficient as a 74D. Recently SGT Watson served on RSOP as the CBRN crew member and during that time his efforts allowed him to proactively prevent and respond to a simulated chemical attack during Roving Sands. SGT Watson is a man of few words, but his work continues to speak for itself.

Charlie Warrior of the Week: 26 July 2022

SPC Diaz, Juan
Duty Position: Patriot Enhanced Operator and Maintainer (14T)

SPC Diaz is currently in the midst of quest for overall self improvement. Although he hasn’t attended the promotion board yet, he’s very adamant about completing tasks now that’ll prepare him receiving his promotable status. In addition to volunteering for and completing courses such as the installation bus driver’s course, physical fitness has reached a different level of priority within his life. Recently SPC Diaz began to develop weekly fitness challenges amongst his launcher platoon peers in order to motivate both himself and them. Since his arrival to the Crusader battery, SPC Diaz has always represented himself as a dedicated member of the team and that trend continues a little over a year since we gained him. Regardless of the task, SPC Diaz continues to be one of our most dependable personnel.

This week, the Battery trained on Battle Drill 1A: conduct squad attack for leader’s time training. Our 1SG utilized overall tactical expertise and previous infantryman experiences in order to formulate training in the form of a Q & A portion and make the transition to scenarios on Imperial field, where the the squads were operating
as part of a movement to conduct a hasty or deliberate attack then met by a team of Crusader OPFOR personnel.

Last week,the Crusaders received instruction on Battle Drill 6:Entering a building and clearing a room for Leader’s Time Training. SGT Mack led the training in which he provided training on how to properly clear and secure rooms by killing or capturing the enemy while minimizing friendly casualties, noncombatant casualties, and collateral damage . Each team were also taught how to comply with ROE, maintain a sufficient fighting force to repel an enemy counterattack, and continue operations.

Crusader of the Week: 17 July 2022

SGT Kurtis Martinez Mills
Duty Position: 14T(Launching station enhanced operator-maintainer)

SGT Martinez-Mills currently serves as the Arms room NCOIC and he’s done plenty of positive representation for that role. Leaning on his personal appreciation for marksmanship, SGT Martinez took the helm for instructing PMI for the last three ranges that included multiple weapons systems. Being that he’s scheduled to leave for Korea in the fall,he’s currently training his replacement during his off time to ensure that his recent streak of commendable ratings for inspections continues. SGT Martinez has also played a huge role within the public affairs area for the Crusaders volunteering to incorporate his admiration for photography into the battery’s success by managing photos and the editing process.

Crusader of the Week: 10 July 2022

CPL Issac Guadarrama
Duty Position: 92Y(Unit Supply Specialist)

CPL Guadarrama currently serves as our lone battery unit supply specialist and took over the position of NCOIC prior to becoming apart of the NCO Corps. CPL Guadarrama truly dedicates himself to the success of the Crusader Battery. He arrived to us and instantly volunteered for a vacancy on our RSOP team without having any previous experience. Not only did he help fill a void, but his efforts played a key role within RSOP establishing a strong foundation for the battery to complete Table VIII certifications. CPL Guadarrama always possesses the willingness to aid the battery as a whole, regardless of whether or not the tasks directly pertain to supply. He’s currently preparing himself for Airborne school, and that prompted him to coach some of his fellow Crusaders along the way as they work to improve their overall fitness levels. CPL Guadarrama may wear many hats for the battery, but the most important one comes in the form of his constant positivity no matter what the situation is. He’s a natural motivator and takes pride in every mission.

Crusader of the Week: 3 July 2022

SGT Devonte Barber
Duty Position: 25U(Signal Operations Support Specialist)

SGT Barber continues to provide value to the already rich NCO Corps of the Crusader Battery. He arrived to the unit eager and prepared to groom the next generation of Crusaders regardless of whether they belonged to his commo section. Recently, SGT Barber has been assisting Soldiers with both promotion board preparation and instructing them on how to earn more points. SGT Barber is also putting forth efforts towards honing the skills of his fellow NCOs as he currently in the process of incorporating consistent battery level NCOPDs. He’s currently serving as the interim Platoon Sergeant for HQ and has served as the RSO for two consecutive battery qualification ranges. Regardless of the situation, SGT Barber continues to display selfless service igniting better overall sustainment for the unit.
