Around 19:09 last night, Fort Branch Fire Territory crews were dispatched to a reported electric golf cart fire.

Thanks to a rapid response, our teams arrived on the scene and were able to extinguish the blaze. Haubstadt Fire Territory was initially dispatched for automatic aid, but due to the fast knockdown by FBFT crews, they were able to be disregarded shortly after.

We appreciate the continued partnership with our neighbors in Haubstadt and are thankful there were no injuries reported.

Tonight members trained on the IDHS State SCBA Confidence training trailer. It is a trailer with three levels of courses to put members in tight and difficult areas while controlling breathing and working through the course.

This Saturday, March 7th, we will be hosting a county wide training for all departments in Gibson County using this training trailer. Any fire member that is wanting to be here from Gibson County, report to Fort Branch Station 1 at 0800 Hrs. Must bring own SCBA and PPE.

It’s a question we hear often: why does a fire truck respond to a medical emergency?

When you call 911, the Fort Branch Fire Territory may dispatch multiple units to ensure the fastest possible response and the highest level of care.

We aim to respond to medical calls alongside the ambulance because, in many cases, the transporting unit may have an extended arrival time depending on their current location & extra resources may be needed for the transporting medical crew. Also, because our stations are positioned within the heart of our community, our firefighters a lot of times arrive on the scene first. This allows us to begin immediate patient assessment and provide vital Basic Life Support treatments before the ambulance even pulls into the driveway.

This system, built on a strong partnership with Gibson County EMS, ensures that we provide direct patient care quickly, efficiently, and with the necessary manpower from the very start. We are committed to being there when you need us most, utilizing every resource available to protect our residents.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Ascension St. Vincent Evansville for their assistance in evaluating our newest AHA CPR instructors.

Their experience, professionalism, and dedication have been invaluable over the past few weeks as Fort Branch Fire Territory worked to prepare these instructors to successfully complete their training.

Partnerships like this strengthen our ability to serve our community and ensure high-quality lifesaving education.

We truly appreciate your continued support and commitment to public safety. 🚒

🚨 EXTREME COLD ALERT: SW Indiana is Heading Into the Deep Freeze ❄️

We have Extreme Cold Warnings and Advisories in effect for tonight. Conditions are becoming dangerous as northwest winds sweep over our fresh snowpack.

Temperatures: Dropping near or below zero across much of the state.

Wind Chills: Feeling as low as -25°F to -10°F.

⚠️ Critical Safety Info:

•Frostbite Risk: Exposed skin can freeze in minutes. Bundle up completely if you must go out Monday morning.

•Road Conditions: Streets are still not optimal. Between the massive snow removal effort and temperatures this low, clearing the roads will take time.

•Travel Advice: Stay home if you can. Give road crews the space they need to work.

Bottom line: Be safe, check on your neighbors, and keep your pets indoors! 🐾🏠

❄ Did you know an INDOT plow route can take between 2-3 hours? In these advanced weather conditions, that time can even be longer for our drivers.

But have no fear! If you haven't seen a plow lately, you'll likely see one soon. If you want to see the latest on where our plows are, just head to 511in.org!
