The Fort Calhoun Rural Fire District Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, August 27, 2026. This will be a public meeting at the Fort Calhoun Fire Station. The agenda for said meeting is available at the home of the Secretary of the District. Board may go into a closed/executive session at any time. If questions, contact the Board Secretary at email [email protected] or evenings call 402-871-2187. Residents of the City and the Rural areas are welcome to attend.

FCFD firefighters trained with Blair Volunteer Fire & Rescue last evening. Firefighters worked on advancing hoselines into a structure, pump operations, and tower ladder positioning.

Upcoming road closures around the Blair Airport.

The City of Blair issued a TRAFFIC ALERT: Blair Executive Airport Road Construction Update
Washington County and project partners are continuing work on the Blair Executive Airport roadway improvements, which means County Roads 35 and 38 will experience closures in the coming weeks.
Upcoming Closures:
Beginning Tuesday, July 21
• County Road 35 will be closed between County Road P38A and County Road 38.
Beginning Monday, July 27
• County Road 38 (east of County Road 33) will be closed to through traffic. Local access will be maintained where possible.
Please review the attached map before traveling in the area and plan an alternate route if needed. Watch for construction crews, flaggers, changing traffic patterns, and obey all posted signage.

🚒 TRAINING NOTICE | Blair Volunteer Fire Department 🚒

⚠️ PSA! If you're in the area of 18th & Lincoln Streets this evening, you may notice fire apparatus, emergency vehicles, firefighters, and smoke in the highlighted area shown below.

Please do not be alarmed — this is a planned training exercise and there is NO emergency.

Tonight's training will be conducted alongside our partners from Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue & Herman Fire Department as we work together to sharpen our skills and strengthen our response capabilities.

🚧 We ask everyone to:
• Respect the training area.
• Follow any directions from emergency personnel.
• Avoid entering the training site so crews can train safely and effectively.

Thank you for your patience and support as we continue preparing to serve our community. Training like this helps ensure we're ready when a real emergency happens.
