Tires screamed. Smoke rolled. Crowds cheered.

A drift exhibition brought high-speed excitement to Fort Campbell as part of Freedom 250, the U.S. Army’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

In partnership with the U.S. Army, DynaCam and O’Sully Racing, professional drift driver Connor O’Sullivan of Knoxville, Tennessee, showcased the precision and skill that have made him one of the sport’s rising stars.

Held at the Fort Campbell AAFES Main Exchange on July 24, the exhibition gave Soldiers and their families a chance to experience professional drifting up close—an unforgettable event that introduced many to the world of drift for the first time.

Joining Hodges and Petraeus in the photo are Maj. Gen. David Gardner, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Goodart, the division command sergeant major; and former division Command Sgt. Maj. Marvin Hill.

The ceremony brought together generations of Screaming Eagles to honor courage, sacrifice and service.
