The Screaming Eagles honored U.S. Army 1st Lt. Robert Judels during a D-Day ceremony in Sainte-Côme-du-Mont, France.

Judels, a 101st Airborne Division paratrooper, landed near the village on the night of June 5, 1944, during the D-Day invasion. After landing, French residents Mr. and Mrs. Lemarchand hid him in their farmhouse so he would not be spotted by German patrols. He served as an English-French translator for American troops.

Lt. Col. Drew Schaub gave remarks during the ceremony, honoring Judels, Screaming Eagles and the residents who helped preserve their story.
