Charlie Company (Medical). The history of the 526th Brigade Support Battalion began with the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 5th Quartermaster Troop Transport Battalion constituted on 17 June 1943 at Camp Swift, Texas. In November 1943, the unit mission changed to a support role. The unit was re-desi

gnated as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 5th Quartermaster Battalion, Mobile, and was sent to the European Theater of Operations where it served with distinction. The unit was inactivated after WWII and the
colors were sent back to the United States. Between October 1946 and September 1952 the unit was re-designated as both 5th Transportation Corps Truck Battalion and 5th Transportation Amphibious Truck Battalion at Fort Eustis, VA, home of the Army Transportation School. In May 1960 the unit was designated the 5th Transportation Battalion and the colors were flown to Okinawa where the unit was active until June 1963. When the 101st Airborne Division deployed to Vietnam, and developed an airmobile concept, the need of an aircraft direct support maintenance battalion arose. The unit was again re-designated on 1 July 1968, and
activated in Vietnam. The unit returned to the United States and was inactivated 18 September 1986 at Ft. The 5th Transportation Battalion has a solid reputation in the United States Army for providing support on and off the battlefield. On 16 April 1994 the 5th Transportation Battalion was reactivated as the 526th Forward Support Battalion, 101st Airborne
Division (Air Assault). In 2004 the 526th Forward Support Battalion was re-designated as the 526th Brigade Support Battalion. The unit has deployed multiple times in support of Operation Iraq Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom,

On 12SEP25, 526th Light Support Battalion, with the help from COL Reim and CSM Fazio, kicked off our Organization Day sports tournament.

Organization Day consisted of volleyball, soccer, co****le, spades, and flag football. Overall, CEC-I was the winner of the overall sports tournament and was awarded the Performance Trophy.

Sustain the Fight! 🦅

From 30JUL25 to 03AUG25, 526th Light Support Battalion sharpened its warfighting skills during a battalion-level training exercise, preparing for Combined Resolve 26-01 at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center.

Over the five training days, Soldiers executed critical tactical tasks including base defense, tactical convoys, resupply and recovery missions, and a mass casualty (MASCAL) exercise. The trainings designed to strengthen readiness and interoperability for the upcoming operation to showcase the Army’s transforming-in-contact concept.

On 24JUL25, 526 Light Support Battalion conducted our internal Air Assault assessment to determine which Soldiers will be slotted for the next Air Assault class here at MKAB, Romania.

Roughly 40 Soldiers competed by going through the Obstacle Course. The course consisted of the Tough One, Weaver, Confidence Climb, Six Vaults, Swing Stop Jump, Low Crawl, High Step Over, and the Inclining Wall.
