SAMC Inductee Ceremony:

Sergeant Audie Murphy Club (SAMC) member, SFC Facklam of Havoc Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment honors the newest SAMC inductee to the Mountain Post SAMC, 1SG Newell. Members of SAMC represent the top 2% of all enlisted Non-commissioned Officers across the Army. SAMC is comprised of NCO's whose leadership achievements and performance merit special recognition Members of SAMC exemplify leadership characterized by personal concern for the needs, training, development, and welfare of Soldiers and concern for families of Soldiers. Congratulations 1SG Newell. MANCHU!

Today, Havoc Company would like to highlight SPC Lyons from our Sniper Section for his dedication to physical readiness. SPC Lyons finished his marathon training strong last week with an incredible two-mile time of 10 minutes, 36 seconds! Fast forward to today, SPC Lyons ran an ACFT personal best of an 11 minutes, 15 seconds two-mile after completing the five previous ACFT events! SPC Lyons has aspirations to join the Army World Class Athlete Program upon completion of Sniper School.

Scouts of Havoc Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment joined by Havoc 6 completed the Colorado Tough Mudder this past weekend held in Byers, Colorado. The event consisted of a 10K course with 20 obstacles. Hats off to SGT Bruce, SGT Prow, SFC Facklam, and CPT Kaiser, Manchu Warriors fit to fight.

1LT Carbery Farewell Ceremony:

Today Soldiers of our Scout Platoon bid farewell to 1LT Carbery as 1LT Gregson has now assumed the position and honored him with a commemorative plaque for his service.

Manchu Soldier Highlight:

Manchu Warrior, SPC Lyons of Havoc Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment took home the gold after competing in the 2023 Estes Park Half Marathon this last holiday weekend. SPC Lyons placed 1st in his division, 13th overall out of 404 participants, and maintained a 7:26 min/mi pace at 9,100 feet elevation with a finish time of 1hr:37min:08sec. SPC Lyons a two year veteran of long distance running has a long-term goal of becoming a professional endurance athlete. For now, SPC Lyons has his eyes set of completing Army Sniper School, joining the World Class Athletic Program (WCAP), and possibly Special Operations.

Change of Command Ceremony

Today the Soldiers, Leaders, and family members of the 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment bid farewell to LTC Kain, and welcomed LTC Walsh as the new 4-9IN Battalion Commander. We are grateful for the Kain family's unwavering commitment to the Manchu Battalion and wish them well on their next endeavor.

SPC Holland of Havoc Company and SPC McDaniel of Brutal Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment become the first two names added to the Manchu Ranger Plaque. Both having completed the Army’s premiere Infantry Leadership School now bear the honor and responsibility of being an Army Ranger.

Manchu Retention Fair:

Soldiers of the 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment “Manchu” attend the 1st Annual Retention Career Fair. This fair provided learning opportunities for career advancement, retention, education, and finance to all Manchu warriors. Credit to SSG Myers the 4-9IN Career Counselor for coordinating this great opportunity.

Scouts out! Last week, Stalker Platoon split into its three sections and supported each of the Manchu line companies by establishing observation posts and screening the Enemy.

There, they gathered the information Commanders needed to fight and win during Operation Arete.

Our Scouts are now better trained than they have been in multiple years.

Congratulations to SGT Markel Ceasar from Alexandria, Louisiana, on his 6 year reenlistment, reaffirming his commitment to the Army, and our nation.

SGT Ceasar will reclass as a 17E, Electronic Warfare Specialist, where he will continue to do great things for our nation!
